I know a lot of people are struggling with getting their dogs to walk comfortably with their new muzzles. First step is to get a correctly fitted one. The one @princeapollojoseph is currently wearing is a Harry * size from @the.muzzle.movement , although it is a much better fit than the average pet shop bought muzzle, we feel he may be better in a mitzy or atlas size, but until we get one of those, this will do just fine.
Assuming you've found a good muzzle, put in the work to muzzle train over the last few months (as well as make sure your lead walking and good manners is on point) you should aim to gradually make your way into real life situations. Remember, your dog doesn't understand why they suddenly have to wear this, so we need to be able to communicate with them that it's OK. We do this by breaking it down into achievable steps.
Putting a muzzle on and trying to get to the park where there's lots of fun distracting things is just not going to work... Especially if they're used to playing and socialising freely. This will likely just cause your dog to get frustrated.
Take it slow, a brain workout is often just as good, tiring and enriching as a walk in the park.
Use this time to teach your dog with patience and rewards.
