so glad to see you and your pops together. I have seen you mention him a few times before. I don't know anything . .about your past with your pops,and I don't want to . it is not any of me or any one elses business.i have often wondered what he would look like. he reminds me of my grand pa. I can tell you one thing for sure brother, cherish every moment you have with him because you will wake up some day and he will be gone forever. I lost my dad in 1970 in a car crash. I think about him every day. and a big kudos for weaver for what looks to be a fine line of equipment. they are at the right place to get their products in front of the treeman industry. I haven't spent an idle day since I found your channel about 4 years ago. you make me want to keep moving around. I am 66 now and I am as active as I have been in a long time. building axes daily as good heads become available. I wish I could show you my axes . I think you would approve . like you say it is a process, not just sticking a piece of wood on a old rusty axe head. I just finished a sager chemical Puget sound 1939 12 inches long and a real beauty. when I learn how to properly use this lap top I will send you some pictures of my work. keep the videos coming buckin I watch every one of them. ENJOY YOUR TIME AT BUCKINSTOCK WISH I COULD BE THERE. TELL IRONHORSE I THINK I HAVE LEARNED HOW SEND HIM AN EMAIL. this computer stuff is a learning thing for me but I am trying.

So glad to see you get back into that saddle. I feel safer for you already bud. Now please consider safety glasses. My Dad had an acquaintance many years ago who lost an eye to a piece of slag torching. Later lost the vision in the other to diabetes. He then ended his own life. You only get one pair of eyes. Take care of them please.

I think it's important to make-known that Weaver, through the past year, has been bullying Richard Mumford (creator of the "SAKA" version of the knee-ascender), using dubious IP rights to try and force him to stop making his version (after Weaver got Mike's patent for his version, the HAAS knee ascender), I think it's important to keep in-mind that a corporation cannot have its own values it can only have the values that the people running it at any particular time can make it appear to have, and sure in this particular instance Weaver - as a corporation which by its very nature cannot have values - is making positive actions, but with the context of them becoming a pariah in the climbing community via their bullying of Mumford (less so because of Mumford / his knee ascender, per se, but because it represents as clearly as possible an instance where a corporation is eager to stop innovation for no reason other than to keep market-share with their product - this should bother not only climbers but anyone who believes in free trade because the use of the system's broken IP process to try and stymie innovation by others is as-clear-as-possible an example of "kicking away the ladder", of market-manipulation that's at the expense of the client-base for the benefit of a single, private corporation) I'm happy Buckin' got some great custom gear here but I would much rather he said to Weaver "yknow what, keep the gear and let Mumford proceed with advancing his ascenders", I've already made a top-level comment on this video in-hopes that buckin' will explain things here because I totally get if he just didn't know the drama but, if he did, I'm hoping he can explain/reconcile the seeming-disconnect between his values and what's going on here (AKA a glowing company-endorsement w/o any mention whatsoever of why this particular company needs positive-PR more than any other arbor company does right now)

You are a good man Billy to get things right between you and your pop. Sometimes that is a hard road to take. Trust me, I know! I got a kick watching you climbing that pole as a "tree man" does! I was a utility lineman for some years and OSHA frowned upon us "hitching" up a pole. We were trained to use the "three points of contact" method. Two feet, one hand. Two hands, one foot, on pole at all times. Now, they have implemented so many fall restraints and "safety" gadgets that you can hardly climb the poles!

Howdy Buckin , not only doe's Weaver make quality leather good's , their a supply warehouse where you can buy hide's and and any thing you would ever need to do leather project's. I have a friend that doe's leather work and he buy's from them all the time. And yes Weaver leather is a first rate outfit to deal with and fully deserve your praise.

Mines from "at height" It looks like samson cordage with whoever makes "Notch" eye-eye and DMM biner/ends. You can get steel or aluminium ends depending on what D rings you have on your saddle.

I always coat the metal end of a flood light with a light coating of dyalectic grease before I put them in a floodlight to keep water from corroding the threads. This makes them easier to get in and out.

WOW! I'd be doing back-flips with these most thoughtful gifts from Weaver Leather... FAMILY, anything else is secondary... Ganges, love the shirt, been a Floyd fan since the late 60's, LOL! It was their music that convinced me to get a " power amp " way back when, i.e., the Sansui 9090DB & it STILL cranks & I can rattle every window in the house with it! I hope Weaver can keep up with demand with their latest ax tool belt. They are exactly what I need when felling trees... Bill on the Hill, Vermont, USA... :~)

Awesome video. I am in the market for a new belt/harness. My buddy has me looking at the monkey/beaver belt... but then I watched this video and started looking at the Denali. The two belts are in the same price range, but seeing the leather and the quality of craftsmanship I may go with the weaver Denali. My weight fluctuates a lot between 185-210 so the one size fits all is a nice touch. The belt I’m currently using needs to be retired. It’s a Klein-Burke and it was made in ‘71.... it’s 14 years older than me, so I need something safer probably. If anyone has advice on a new belt let me know. Thanks.

BOTH HOGAN AND I TRIED THIS AND IT WAS DOABLE FOR BOTH OF US , WHICH IS KOOL ENGINEERING CAUSE WE ARE NO WHERE NEAR THE SAME SIZE

Buckin' Billy Ray Smith In your opinion is the Denali or the Cougar ( as Ganges calls it ) more comfortable. I don’t mind belts or clasps, I’m strictly curious about comfort. The cougar is almost half the price, so that’s what has me in a dilemma.
