Being a weaver means dealing with hems. And when hems are done well, they're practically invisible. However, when they don't quite fit with the rest of the project, they can stand out much more than you intend for them to.
So in today's episode, I'm tackling the topic of weaving hems. Join me as I provide a number of examples of how materials and patterns can influence your hems, which will hopefully give you food for thought as you tackle your next project. Happy Weaving!

Thank you, I really like the tip about using a smaller sized yarn for the area to be hemmed

Thank you so much for the reminder/tip about the shrinkage of different hems. I haven’t hemmed my project yet, but it is totally something I will pay attention to now 🧶🙏🏽💗

There you go - answering questions I didn't even know I had!! Too late for my current project (twill towels, plain weave hem), but cotton thread for the sewing may help to shrink the hem up. And next time, I'll do twill throughout....

I have started making my hems with twill when I do twill. I still do plain weave when I have other patterns.
