Naw. That is why there is a reception to laugh and act a great fool. Such a joke in the eyes of God. In my oppinion the ceremony is sacred and I don’t find this amusing. I have been married over 13 yrs been with my husband for 17 years al together. I come from a line of family members that have been married 40 plus years. Marriage is not a joke and because people think it is that is why divorce is so high. Not everything has to be a joke, and unless the joke is subtle leave jokes out during the ceremony.

Deniece Callaway Thank you! My mother in law paid a ridiculous amount for our wedding and it was beautiful and perfect in every way. Because I married my best friend in front of all our closest family and friends. I would have been happy if people were sitting on crates and we ate McDonalds.

Deniece Callaway You are so right!!!!! Anyone who comments on the $$ spent on a wedding has no class and are pompous jerks. My friend's daughter had to borrow everything to have the wedding of her dreams as her father would not pay for it. Her veil and dress didn't even match, one was ivory and one was white, the ladies from her church helped, etc., but she had the wedding of her dreams and just celebrated her 20th anniversary. Kudos to her, and kudos to you for your observation.

My Husband was chewing gum during our ceremony: it helps calm your nerves, and gives you something to focus on, so that you can make it through- without passing out, stumbling over your words, or breaking down; crying. Of course my Husband was slowly chewing, with his mouth closed, and it wasn’t visible to ANY at the church, nor was it seen in any of our photos.
