Mustache Mike gave some really good pointers at the end as far as your logging attire. Never gave those things any thought before. Didn’t realize how dangerous your leather belt or pants bottoms could be. This type of information could actually save a person from being seriously injured or killed. I’m glad I subscribed because this is the very important tips that everyone should know. Thank You !! Keep it up men !!

You've got it going on Gordy. I watch you guys back away from falling trees then watch the log jump and roll ten feet. That is one of the first things I do when sizing a tree up is how my exit plan is going to work when it goes. Saying you make it look easy is a complement to your experience and general know how. Decades of paying attention, expertise and the knowledge base that you have helps me understand things I can use on my end. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures, gotta get me one of those Go Pro thingys for sure.

It’s cool to hear Mike and Dan talk about my family that came to snoqualmie back in the beginning of the mid 1800s the Kinsey’s were a big deal back then! My Great grandmother was Maxine Kinsey and Darius Kinsey was her uncle my great great uncle and was one of if not the best Logging photographer from back then he took pictures from Tacoma all the way to Sedro Woolley and everywhere in between! Their are a few pictures of the whole family and some of his logging photos at the Snoqualmie train depot. The Sedro Woolley historical society has all the negatives of my great great uncles pictures that he took over the years. He did a great job documenting the way the loggers manage to bring down some of the biggest trees we as humans ever logged, we can only imagine the lives they lived back then! Their are some great books with all of his adventures he did and most of his pictures as well. My mom owns most of them I will have to give her a call and dig up the names of them all if y’all are interested! Great video Gorty my 661 is still running like a raped ape have another saw I will have to drop off for you to go threw a bit of a different size than I would think you normally do. But I know it’s nothing you can’t get to where I want it to be. Thanks again and stay safe out there fellas!🤟🏻🇺🇸

Nice to see you in the big timber, man that saw sounds great at full song. I have a set of your 3 point dogs on my 362, unneeded for my small clearing and firewood jobs but the saw just looks so good with them on. Sticker brush is a new one to me, in PA we'll call it jagger bushes, prickers or jing weeds. Keep up the good work.

I as a forester that forced fallers to fall very valuable pine in a given direction to prevent breakage was a uphill battle for years.. I used stage falling.. The effort is to fall a few into holes and skid.. fall more into the same holes and skid.. Clearcut fallers just tip them over the easy way and break very good wood into junk.. In some areas Huge trees lean over creeks and falling trees into streams causes huge issues to fish and soil.. Over the years I met over 3-400 fallers but could only count the best on one hand.. Jacking became very important where young growth was growing and Jack strawing big trees wiped out the whole stand.. Thus 40 year old young stand is lost underneath..Soon fallers understood profits increased if not broken trees and clean up costs to understory where not there.. The goals became to fall big trees.. a couple ..skid and fall more into the same homes and skid and then clean up.. The new stand is still there.. on steep ground the effort gets harder.. Jacks can push a leaning trees straight up and then over into a great lay where breakage is minimal.. Things are still improving and imagine jacks pushing up 150,000 pound trees.. to a straight position then over into a existing hole in the canopy.. Everything is getting better these days with knowledgeable fallers who like this guy are doing a fantastic job.. It’s takes commentment.. ☺️😁. Plus the value on big pine can be over 20-30 times more valuable than fir too…. So it very important to get every piece to the mill not broken up and wasted..
