Those are typically low-quality or unserious productions. Typically it's not up to the actor, it's the production team that decides whether they should get lessons or not.

I wouldn’t call previous versions of Wednesday cartoonish. In the movies she was more dry and relaxed than cartoon-like, even in the context and style of the movies. It’s why I related so much and embraced her attitude as an outsider. Looking forward to Jenna’s work. She is a worthy Wednesday for the next generation. Christina was my Wednesday, but I’m open to the character moving onto the next version. Looks awesome. I also think Catherine Zeta Jones is a perfect replacement for Angelica Huston.

I felt like that statement was more about the Addams Family as a whole, not just Wednesday. The 90s films in particular took the characters in a darkly cartoonish direction in terms of the humor and violence, and even the 60s TV series was more like a macabre caricature than anything. The Addams Family has _always_ been rather cartoonish in general, even though Wednesday specifically has a dry, black humor that is much less ridiculous than some of the rest of the family. She's still cartoonish in a way, with her over-the-top malice and casual violence.

The Addams Family has been portrayed in the past as easy going, wholesome, and light hearted series that everyone should watch. I think what she meant by that is that in this adaptation into a more series and dark themes

I love how she went to cello lesson, and fencing lessons. Many actors don’t put this much effort into a character, and I love that she has taken the time to do so. She has studied this character up and down, front and back. And She’s such a good actress already

Oh yea, "Silent Film Actress" is right. She is at that level of talent. I've seen several projects with Jenna Ortega and she's always superb. "Stuck in the Middle" for Disney was a great show and she killed it in that!

One thing I realize I really appreciate about Christina Ricci's Wednesday is her relaxed, calm expression, whilst committing horrid acts. Jenna Ortega has more of a constant glaring expression, like that of Aubrey Plaza from community. It's not necessarily a fault, just different from what I'm used to with previous Wednesdays, I'm still definitely going to watch it. Hoping it'll be a good iteration of the family.

I loved the tone of her voice when she was delivering lines. I think her age at the time was also a factor cause Christina Ricci was only 10 years old when she played Wednesday but it really completed her character. I’ll have to adjust to this version cause it seems a little forced but overall it seems very promising as a show

This. For me personally, Christina Ricci set the basis for portrayal of murdeous live-action Wednesday, that's why it really bug me when Tim Burton said ""Cause i can't imagine any other Wednesday" at 02:49, but of course i will still watch Jenna Ortega's portrayal of Wednesday.

My thoughts exactly: Jenna's delivery of dialogue is very aggressive versus Christina's which is much more still and calm. I think it goes well with making her more socially awkward since sometimes people might use it as a way to push people or away or hide their insecurities.

I've never pictured Wednesday as anyone aside from Christina, but looking at Jenna in this video, I can say that she is perfect for that role! Like how she looks and act (in the trailers). I've watched her from Scream and You, and she is just an amazing actress. I hope it will be a success and I can't wait to watch it!

Gomez doesn't look exactly like the original comic, he somehow looks even worse. And even if he did, it doesn't matter in 2022. They went out of their way once again to cast a hideous man next to a beautiful woman. If you're all so hung up on the original comic all of a sudden then I want an alien looking Morticia with a huge forehead and a pointy chin with eyebrows as far as they can go. Additionally, it was the same with Heath Ledger and the joker, when you know somethings gonna work, you know. For me it was the laugh, you pull the laugh off right, nothing else matters. @@erinmcn14 8 might be enough. But I think anything more than 20 might spoil the character and weaken her story. Two seasons are good for something like this. It's why the average length of an anime is 25 episodes long. The Japanese know how it's done.

When I heard there was gonna be a new show about Wednesday Addams I was a bit skeptical at first because Addams Family is one of my favourite movies ever and I was afraid they were gonna turn it into some teenage drama show. All the characters have a very specific personality and I'm so happy with the actress they chose for Wednesday, you can tell she's determined to make justice to the character.

There is a difference between Latino and Spanish. Gomez is Spanish. It even says that on his wikipedia page. Latino means someone from Latin America. Jenna got confused because Spanish aren't Latinos . They are white and European. Spain is in Europe.

I love Jenna Ortega she is incredible and she is the one to portray Wednesday if anyone can do justice to Wednesday she can I can't wait to see this series so excited. PS her dedication to Wednesday is admirable if I was actor I would do anything to make my character look as real and as authentic as possible sometimes people get the lead role amd they try to do just to their character they practice but some other times actors don't even try Jenna is definitely one of these actors who is ready dedicated to her role who really cares and that is why I love her so much as an actress and as person
