Great video! I've had the crane plus which is super old at this point and looking at getting a new one for my Sony a6500(which is also old haha). Would the Weebill s be a good upgrade? On the old crane I find the tilt control kinda hard to control when stopping a tilt. Are things like these better with these newer gimbal? Thanks!

The weebill S would work perfectly with the a6500 and with most camera/lens combos if you want to upgrade in the future. If you use the joystick a lot to do movements, the weebill 3s has a better joystick than the weebill s but both are very smooth and should be a nice upgrade.

Great video. I've been on the fence for the last 2 weeks deciding which gimbal to get. Especially with the Weebill 2 Combo being on sale for only $299.

I also saw the Weebill 2 sale. It's a bit bulky for me personally which is why I didn't go with it. It's a solid deal if it fits your needs and you can utilize the screen.

thank you soooo much my very first gimbal was Weebill s since then I've gotten the weebill 2 , weebill lab & still I only use the weebill s it still stands the test of time especially using the wireless transmitter to feed live footage to a smart phone or apple device thought about getting weebill 3s after watching this I might just pass on this model this video was well needed thanks again !

Hey Hoang I wanted to say that your content quality is top notch! I’m trying to decide on which gimbal to get as my 1st. I have a Sony Sony a7iii with zeiss 55mm 1.8 and 24-70mm Sony kit lens. I wanted something not too heavy. Deciding between DJI RS 3 mini, Zhiyun Weebil 3S, Zhiyun M3S and Weebil S. I have tried the DJI RS 3 but it’s too heavy for me. Which gimbal should I buy as my first? I can’t carry heavy weights for too long due to my wrists. Looking forward to your content!

Hey, that's a tough decision. If weight is top priority, than I would get a gimbal that has 2 grip points like the Weebill S or get an additional handle grip for the RS3 Mini etc. The Weebill S in my opinion is the only one of those gimbals that is designed well in terms of balancing weight if you use both grip points so that would be my suggestion. The M3S and the RS3 mini aren't designed with additional grip points and the Weebill 3S does have an additional grip attachment but because of it's location at the bottom, it does not relieve as much weight on the hands as the Weebill S design. I hope this helps!

Great review, wish they stuck with the original handle design but I get they wanted to add the hand rest. Throws the center of gravity off when going into underslung though

Thanks for the video.. im looking into getting my first gimbal.. brand new, their both similarly priced. I have a nikon D780 and contemplating getting a 24-70m. Which would you recommend?

The D780 is a heavier camera and would require more power. The Weebill 3s is more powerful than the Weebill S so I would get the 3s for the D780

Do you think it is possible to stabilise a canon R6+Sigma 24-70 in the same way as you did on the weebil S with the Sony+sigma 24-70, on a Weebil 3 S though? Thanks!

The camera weight is fairly similar so I would think it should be possible! The 3s has fairly powerful motors and should be able to handle it fine.

You talk about motor strength... I'm looking at a used "S" for use w/ a rigged iPhone. Sounds like my rig payload will probably be mid-capacity and I shouldn't worry about stressing the "S" motors? Thanks in advance.

Should I get the Weebill 3S for Filmmaking? to get movements like a camera on a crane, tracking people, dolly in/out etc etc?

If you are doing a lot of precise movements, I would recommend the Weebill S over the 3S because of the design, it is easier than the 3s to control and get those effects. However the 3s has stronger motors so if you have a heavier setup then you may want to go with the 3s. Both are great for filmmaking.

Hi..can you add a monitor or video transmitter in some way with the 3s? the accesory arm have a 3/4 thread in the bottom of the handle? thanks!!!

There is a thread on the bottom of the gimbal where the mini tripod legs screw in so you could add something in between or remove the legs. There is also a thread on top of the additional side arm that can be used for attaching something though that might not be the most convenient location.

Is shooting vertical with the weebill s possible? Thought that capability might've been something worth mentioning

I actually rarely shoot vertical so that completely slipped my mind. The weebill S cannot shoot vertical by default. The Weebill 3s however has built in vertical capability by allowing you to attach the camera baseplate at a 90 degree angle aka vertically without having to put a case on the camera or do anything external! If you shoot vertical often, this is a gamechanger!

It's possible to use a camera cage to mount the camera vertically or an L bracket. I've seen people do this for the Weebill S

Looks like another Weebill S for me or wait it out. They just need to make a Weebill S with a wrist rest, light, sturdier locks & stronger motors (haven't had issues motor-wise while using fx3 w/ sigma 28-70)

Is the cradle on the 3s larger then from the Weebill S? Does the camera and lens have more space on the 3s then on the Weebil S ?

It is a tad larger than the weebill S and gives the camera and lens a bit more room but it's not a huge change.

The battery on 3s is a bummer. I bought my weebil S instead of DJI SC years ago just because of removable battery.

I do agree the lack of removable batteries is a downgrade imo. Having used it a bit longer now, I have noticed the battery on the 3s doesn't last as long as the weebill s batteries. Disappointed in that.

Bro you don't say any word of the stabilisation at all how does the Weebill 3s performs compared to the Weebill s? Completely frustrating 😤

The 3s has stronger motors and provides more stability. Both perform very well and in my opinion there isn't a huge difference unless you need more motor strength for larger setups.

I find the Weebill s only holds so much weight , I’m pretty sure the Weebill 3s can hold a lot more capacity

That is a fair point. Though, the footage will look extremely similar. There's no strong difference between the two performance wise except the 3s is as bit stronger. With the same gimbal settings I have noticed no difference in performance.

I find it challenging to do the orbit shot with the weebill s. It will do a jerk pan from left to right if I try orbit around the subject from left to right.

You may need to configure the smooth and the deadband settings to make it not jerk
