I totally relate to feeling insecure when my skin isn't the best. Your skin overall is beautiful and I know this is hella annoying to hear but you definitely are more aware of the skin flaws than anyone else! I hated getting unsolicited advice from people about my skin. The only thing that helped me was accutane.

I had horrible cystic acne and then went on Acutane and it was like a miracle...all acne was gone forever...not for everyone...side effects for some which I did not experience and they draw your blood on a regular basis to make sure you are ok.

you didn't ask for recommendations but in case you'd like a new skin strategy, here is what works for my acne prone skin: -hypochlorous acid spray on face (AKA the Tower 28 acne spray stuff) after sweating (like If I am out or went to the gym, but I am not home to wash my face. You can spray this over makeup. its extremely gentle and just smells like saltwater, but a huge game changer for getting bacteria off your face from makeup, midday oil, sweating, etc) -apostrophe topical spironolactone/clindamycin nightly -tretinoin as frequently as you can tolerate (I have built up to everyother day) -100 to 200 mg oral sprionolactone (I think you're already on it?) -de la Cruz 10% sulfur acne treatment (as frequently as you can tolerate, start with every other day) - half a pea size amount of 10% benozyl peroxide mixed in with moisturizer every other day ish for rest of skincare: -fave sunscreens are unseen sunscreen Supergoop and SKIN1004 Hyalu-CICA Water-fit Sun Serum - I just use cetaphil cleanser (don't use the moisturizing one, it can cause acne in some ppl including me) -either Neutrogena hydroboost or cosrx snail mucin cream for moisturizer (I think I like cosrx better) -hydrofacials when you can get them! YOU HAVE TO STAY CONSISTENT EVEN WHEN YOURE ACNE IS CLEARED UP!!

I know you don't want advice but I figured out I am sensitive to high Omega 3 foods like salmon, tuna, supplements... once I limited those to one a week I stopped getting cystic acne. It could be food related

Brooke do you still take spironolactone for your acne? I just started it over a month ago and I'm loving the results so far.

I know you probably don’t want more advise anymore, but could it be the pimple patches I see you use them a lot . I tried it and didn’t work for me, and mine were small white head pimples that I get occasionally , it made it worse. In a previous podcast cast you mentioned you’re scared to start using retinoids but when my acne was really bad that’s what took it away for me. I used retin-a . You just have to ease into it to avoid that initial irritation. Hope you’ll consider it. I remember how frustrating it was dealing with acne.
