When it comes to firmware updates for the likes of Spectre and GhostRace your always going to wonder what the impact on the native/raw performance of the hardware will be , post "FIX" dont be surprised if things sloooow down a bit.

Yep. That was one of the "worries" at the end of the news article from the Xen team. I think for Spectre some apps experienced a double digit performance penalty after patching.
