Yes, mint is strong both in flavor and how it grows. You can also submerge a pot in the same planter to keep it from edging out all the other herbs.

Newly planted plants need watering. After planting, give them a good watering around the base of the plant. Never water directly on top of the plant, always near the base. You want the water to get to the root of the plant. Then water about every 3 days. Count about 10 seconds of water for each plant. Once established (About 2 weeks) water when soil feels/looks dry. Best to buy a watering can for your herb planter, then you’re not having to drag out the hose all the time. You can just fill the watering can from your kitchen sink. Also to note… If you have your herb garden in direct sunshine it will need more water. I like to water plants in the evening because then they have all night to drink up the water. If it’s a hot hot day and you water in the morning, the sun will dry up the soil a lot faster than at night. Happy gardening!

If you'll be traveling frequently, i'd suggest you buy a self watering mechanism to water your herbs. Herbs need watering daily, sometimes even twice a day during hot summers which can be pretty high maintenance tbh but worth it!

When I bring new plants to add to my herb garden I actually keep them in the grow pot for a week or so to acclimate to my backyard and check out their temperament. Once they seem relatively happy, I’ll plant them and give a good watering. Once they get a little dry, water again. If they die, I keep them in there because they could have some roots under that can grow new babies. As all the other comments from green thumbs here, immediately remove the mint and put it in its own pot. I also like keeping my basil and chives separate bc the root systems are also huge and will take over the nutrients. Good luck!

You can save the basil, just water it thoroughly. It needs a lot of water in general, you can even water it everyday if the soil dries out quickly, just stick your finger in the soil and check. It's also best to keep the herbs in partial shade to shade.

Re the herbs, place them somewhere where there is mostly shadow, and maybe a couple of hours sun a day 👩🏼‍🌾. I love herbs🌿 and have to keep them on the back balcony, not the front one , or else they get too much sun and dry out. And If you go away, place them in the shadow and give them plenty of of water, and then they might survive the week 😛

For my herb garden, I have a few homemade olla's for consistent watering which is probably all you need to help bring yours back to life. They are essentially two clay pots from Home Depot glued together to create a container. You bury them in the middle of the planter leaving access to the top hole and the plants pull the water from the clay container when they need water. I fill mine up once a week and don't have to do / worry about anything else. You only need one for your raised bed and they are SUPER easy (and cheap) to DIY.

Congratulations on starting your gardening journey! Your plants should be able to come back to life, just give them a good water! Gardening tips: 1. Mint is SUPER invasive, try removing it and having it in its own separate little pot. this way it won't overtake the garden. 2. Keep your herbs in an area that doesn't get blasted with full sun constantly, partial sun will work just fine. 3. as a girly who has a big garden but also goes away a lot in the summer, it's important that before you leave for a couple days to SOAK your plants so they don't dry out too much while you're gone! Hope this helps!! :)

Plant flowers to bring the bees to your yard and you won’t see as many wasps. They made me nervous also when I bought my home in Texas, they were everywhere! The bees came in when I put in pollinator plants. #savethebees Please always avoid pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. Healthy soil with organic amendments builds healthy environments! Go Lan and Dejan! 🙌🌿 edit: Mulch the herbs it will keep their roots cool and help keep the soil moist.

Hi Allana! Herb garden is such a great idea, but...they can't all be in one container. When you plant something, you always water it well immediately after planting. Second, mint will kill all other plants. It is invasive, so get it its own container (it's also perannial). Basil on the other hand is a one year plant, needs just a little soil and a loooot of water, like put a plate underneath and keep it always filled with watter. All others should be fine, but they need regular watering, specially during Summer (any Summer). No giving up, this is a first go. ❤

I love gardening! Just a thought though, cilantro does not do super well in the heat, its a better early spring plant, but maybe it will be fine! I guess you will see! All that to say if it dies this time don't give up, just try a little earlier next year! Also herbs generally need a lot of sun and water so I would make sure you get lots of that!

Herbs need a lot of frequent watering. Since you’re keeping it outside, I’d recommend a self-watering irrigation system so that you can forget about it, unless you want to be a daily waterer. You at least need a self watering system for going on vacation. Blumat is the trusted brand to use (don’t use dupes).

Love the garden! However I would take that Mint out ASAP. Mint is technically a weed and if you leave it in there the entire bed will be all mint next year (speaking from personal experience) 🤣💕 I would also be sure to research what herbs do well together. Each plant will have varying requirements in terms of how much water they need, how much sunlight, how much drainage, etc. Pepper plants for example are pretty drought tolerant whereas basil and mint need lots of water.
