I've been using this exact combo for a few months now and I love it. Altho Innersense makes your hair crunchy, as the days go by there's less crunch and more volume with my hair. I love this combo

I got my first curly cut back in June 2022 and the stylist used this same styling combination my hair looked sooooo good I’m not sure how long my coils would’ve lasted as I was putting in a protective style the following week so I washed my hair aft about 5 days but boi I sure didn’t need to. Loved this combo on my coils

yaaaas i love me some aphogee curlific! that’s my fav deep conditioner rn. i think i used it for the first time last year after i got my hair dyed and all i know is, it just does what it’s supposed to do!

I used to use that curlific treatment as well, until I tried the curl smith bond rehab salve and what a game changer! My sad curls on the side that get pulled into low buns all the time actually came back with a defined curl. Holy grail for me.

Great result ! I never manage to get a cast from this combo. I was even thinking about using a second topper. I think I was putting it and adding water . Ok I’ll try it this weekend then.

This is my all time favorite combo! I don't use as much ICH. I use probably 5 pumps on my entire head. My hair is longer than yours but yours is WAY thicker! I think I'll try using more and see what what happens! Beautiful results!

Your hair is beautiful. I have super dense, coily and bushy spots, so I know about the detangling and hair shedding. Bad news, if this it gets tougher, takes longer to detangle as it longer. Use a Sinkshroom to avoid pipe clogs. I was introduced to Innersense line at the Candace Witherspoon salon in NYC, and has improved texture and tangles. I combine their gel with Earthtones Natural Curling Gelly-a little thicker than UFD and it leaves my hair feeling moisturized, less crunchy and more touchable every day. You could use a few drops of I Create Shine oil to break the cast and keep the shine. I’ve invested in their whole line and a Dyson dryer and they’ve improved my wash day routine immensely.

Yes! You would think I work for innersense or something. Lol I agree with Brittany, it’s definitely worth trying. The results are worth it. Plus, you don’t have to use too much.

Another great video 👏🏾. This is my favorite combo! I’ve been using it for months now and every time I deviate I end up going back. You use more product than me, but I’m going to try that this weekend since your results came out so great! How long do you keep your deep conditioner in? And do you sit under heat or just let it be?

Thank you! Let me know how it works for you ✨ It depends on the day but typically, at least an hour, and I use a heat cap instead of sitting under the dryer. If I have to run errands, ill throw on a slap cap and a hat for a few hours as well.

When my styler did Innersense as the topper they just put in a little bit of the base and didn't go in with detail. Once they did Innersense that's when they did the detail raking and I had crunch for a full week. My hair didn't move 🤣

Hello. I love your channel. Have you ever tried mixing your products together adding a bit of water and then applying it? I rarely do wash and go's but when I do, I use this method. I learned it from a stylist. It doesn't save you any products but it does save time.

Hey there. Thanks! I haven’t tried that only because I’ve been on a product trial phase, and I am trying to use the products individually in order to gauge whether I like them or not. But that’s a great idea. It’s essentially cocktailing before adding the products. I’ve seen some stylists do it. I love it because I don’t have to go over my hair again with another product since the products are mixed together. I’ll give this ago once I’m done, testing different products. Thanks for sharing!

@@BrittanyMia I’ve never used it without water, afraid of flaking. It’s really thick I feel like it is meant to be used with water because it seems pretty concentrated.

Your curls look beautiful. How do you get the UFD to not tangle your hair? I tried adding more water and applying in the shower but I get to a point where I am not able to get my fingers through the sections of my hair.

Try emulsifying (warming it in your hands) first before applying it to your hair. I hope that helps❤️

Another trick is to use warm water on your hair because cold water makes it lock up

I find that the topper gel is only needed to seal the curls. I don’t really rake as much because it’s not necessary. It’s hard to explain, but I will demonstrate in this weeks video!

@@biloushka8437 Thanks for the suggestion, I actually do use warm water but that does not seem to help. It is hard to explain it actually tangles my hair once I apply the gel

Question! Working out during the week-how do you care for your hair? I find myself washing multiple times per week since I go to the gym and typically sweat from my scalp first.

Multiple times is too much. Maybe you should try a co-wash or just rinse with water between shampoo washes

I am beginning to have an issue with scalp sweat expiring the set a few days before I expected, but I allow my scalp to airdry and just let it be. How many times per week do you find yourself having to shampoo?

@@BrittanyMia if I do a wash and go, about 15 min because I do it in the shower. If I’m working from home then I will put in mini twists -which that takes about 35-45 min.

How do you preserve your curls at night , do you just throw a bonnet on , my hair is longer hanging at neck length with my wash n go but I’m having the issue of squished curls after sleeping

I’m having that same issue. My bonnet is starting to squish my curls as well. Many people suggest using a silk scarf as a solution. I have yet to test it, but it's worth trying! If you try it let me know how it works for you ✨

@@BrittanyMia I will try it out ! Working on getting my hair to not be super frizzy especially the top , the bottom will clump together not sure if I just have naturally frizzy hair will try to incorporate more water and ufd to see if it helps tame the frizz

I've been using a buff and a bonnet on top to keep the hair in place. My side still gets flat but everything else stays perfect

what affordable base and topper gel that you would suggest for a beginner?

When you say affordable, what price range are we talking? The majority of the products I use I purchased on sale. For a base, the uncle funky‘s daughter curly magic is undefeated in my book. If you like mousse, the doux is an affordable topper to try! I hope this helps, but let me know.

@@Tassy0 Besides UFD, the As I Am Curling Jelly is a great base I used to use and is $11.99 at Sally’s (8oz) and $20 for 16oz. As a topper, I can only recommend or suggest what I’ve used and those would be at the top end of your range like the Ouidad Advanced Climate Control. Right now Sally’s is having a sale, spend $40 get $10 off. You can get both of these products at Sally’s. I hope this helps 🤎

does applying these products to your hair in the shower help with the process? Any time i’ve attempted a wash and go i’ve done it over the sink with damp, towel-blotted hair and wasn’t successful.

Yes it does. It makes it easier to access a lot of water and not make a mess. I like to style on soaking wet hair.

It had a great hold, but my application didn’t allow it to hold as long as it could have. I added the water while simultaneously adding the I create hold, which lowered the product's efficacy. When I did not add water while adding the topper for week 13; with the I create volume; the hold was better. I create volume is not a gel so I know for sure that I create hold would have even better hold with this application style.

When I'm not recording, it takes an hour and a half to shampoo and style. Then another hour to hour and a half under a hooded dryer. So all together about 3 hours.

I'm getting to the point where I want to return twice a week. By day 4, my scalp starts itching, and now that I'm in the gym so much, it may be essential. Thanks for sharing! 😊
