Chris P yeah, when I saw Xavier die, I thought he'd wake from a dream a few seconds later. I was confused to see that he was actually done for and then we got a fight scene, so I didn't feel his death the way I felt Wolverines

Thanks for the new podcast! I saw Logan at the midnight premiere, wicked depressing movie... it was great, but sad... tragic ending, and I'll miss Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart so much... I grew up reading and watching X-men...

I found something that - I mean I dont know about that virus - but it was professor X that killed the mutants, or at least a huge amount. Apparently, he had a huge seizure in the mansion, 600mutants were injured/killed, leaving Wolverine. i'm thinking that that is how at least most died. I loved the film. I think it was all handled pretty damn perfectly. I'll be honest, the death of Logan made my cry a little. I 100% don't want a remake of this. I loved it, its perfect as it is.

It only got me now, but good on the makers of Logan for casting all those kids. They were diverse and all seemed good for their parts. That's rare. Even movies with kids in the lead can often be mediocre at best.

I think if it’s in the year 2029 and there haven’t been any mutants born in 25 years, then the events of X2 (which is my favorite one beside Logan anyway) happened-as X2 was released in ‘03-and then they trailed off to the Logan Universe.

Great video. Hilarious. By the way, Kubo And The Two Strings was great. It is amazing what they were able to create with stop motion, even if they used CGI too. One of my favorite movies of 2016.

To explain why he didn't just out right kill Pierce is because he (up to that point) has been trying his damnedest to NOT kill. The opening scene he took a shot that would've killed any normal person and still wasn't trying to kill the them. He was just immobilizing them, BUT they put him in berserker mode and he just lost himself in reluctant bloodlust. The house scene I think that Xavier just knew this would likely be their last chance to feel normal because what was coming up ahead wasn't going to end with everyone/everything intact. His choice to put that family in danger just so they could have one last night of relative peace is a bit messed up, but I can forgive him for wanting a sliver before accepting he murdered his X-men and became the most dangerous mind in the world. I'm pretty sure the sunrider trip was actually a death sentence. Wolverine was going to take Xavier out into the ocean, pass some time in relative peace, kill him and then himself with the bullet. Xavier (when he has his faculties) probably came to this conclusion too. I mean how could they possibly live out in the ocean in a small boat for an extended period of time? So yeah one last night of relative peace and a good family dinner before the shit hits the fan is well deserved.

Deadpool is the new Wolverine. This was a goodbye to the Hugh Jackman era of Fox Marvel movies, and the beginning of the Ryan Reynolds era of Fox Marvel movies.

a line in Logan was "a mutant hasent been born in 25 years" and this movie was 6 years after days of future past, so DOFP isnt part of this timeline bro

The thing to remember is that mutations only appear around puberty. So no mutant births and the full school of mutants in DoFP does make sense considering mutants aren't known until their adolescence.

Spoilers for Logan. I think the end could have been more impactful if when Logan was impaled on the tree and the new mutants gathered around, Logan realized that they were all clones of the original X-Men. Then as he was dying he had a flash of seeing all of his old friends, Jean, Rogue, Scott, Storm, Bobby, Kitty and Charles. It would be a sledgehammer emotionally, but I think it could have worked in this film.

SPOILERS: about the plot point of Wolverine not killing Pierce right off. Remember that it's the girl who knocked him out, not Logan. Logan has no idea what she's capable of and if she's seen people die yet. He might just try to shield her from seing him kill a guy. Also, he was wasted when he killed the crooks. Not a good excuse but still...

SPOILERS Another plot hole was that the whole idea was to cross the Canadian border so that the Reavers could never get to them any more, but the Reavers would gladly cross between the USA and Mexico, so what difference is it to cross to Canada. Unless Eden does really exist, but even still they had a fuck load of guns

If X-Men 1 is in continuity for Logan, I don't see why X2, X3, Origins, and The Wolverine wouldn't be too (other than most of them not being good). The only problems would be the Sabertooth issue and Charles being dead or whatever in X3. But that was never explained anyway. So basically is it possible that this is the conclusion to the Original Timeline? So only the First Class Trilogy (and maybe Deadpool) are out?

Theory on the X-men timeline: it could be like how each Mad Max movie is supposed to be independent of the other ones? I.e. they're just supposed to be myths/legends, so it doesn't really matter if the continuity doesn't line up

For the 1st thing where Wolverine kills and then doesn't kill. I think it's because he kills once and then realises how much it hurts TO kill and so decides to not kill PLUS Pierce said he is a fan SO, you can't kill a fan right? But yes, I agree.
