Wrong about DC. They are food that are acquired tastes. The more you eat it, the more you'll get used to it and eventually like it.

Newer DC movies are an acquired taste in the sense that you can get used to eat bland trash if you eat it constantly.

They were trying to get the girl back cause they need her... but actually they just were going to kill all the mutant kids??? And actually they dont need her at all because they already have logan 2.0 in the van? And to be honest by the end I was thinking the mutant kids were so jarringly violent and uncontrolable they should probably all be exterminated. Which made logan's sacrifice kind of pointless. What's the point of learning how to live and then just die. Those kids are condemned to a non normal life the same as logan was. Like it or not (and trust me, I don't either), a lot of people still care about what those 'nobodies' say about movies. If a nerdy movie gets approval it brings nerdy stuff that much further into just general acceptance. That's a lot less of a big deal now when nerdiness seems to rule and we have things like Marvel that are just broadly popular, but I can totally understand people who grew up in homes that shunned this sort of thing being genuinely excited about nerdy stuff getting proper recognition. I mean, imagine if your parents shamed you for liking X-Men, and then the snooty movie experts they listen to every year declare superheroes to be the pinnacle of cinema. Wouldn't that be stinking amazing?

Hell, it was most likely a send-off to the entire "older generation" X-Men movie era. We may see cameos from Ian Mckellan or something in some future movies, but I don't imagine we'll ever see another extensive Days of Future Past type movie again, and we're definitely not gonna see any full on original cast movies again... that era is effectively over now. It'll be all the Lawrence/McAvoy/Fassbender cast going forward, or we'll see the new generation led by Dafne Keen.

Remember, Dark Knight was a very thematic superhero movie but when the rest of Hollywood tried to imitate it, all they thought was "OH IT SUCCEEDED BECAUSE IT WAS DARK SO LETS MAKE OUR MOVIES DAAARK". In the case of Logan, they will likely think it succeeded because of the violence and that it was "moody". Hollywood normally takes the face value approach.

Redresseny I know the comment is a little old but they aren't enthralled by the fact he's cursing. the fact that he cursed right away is kind of a insight on what the rest of the movie was going to be like. I personally felt like it coulda used less fucks, but it was showing you it's going to be a more gritty movie compared to the old campy x men movies. IMO

Not days of future past, what I mean is a complete reboot into a new universe. Go PG-13 and R rated films sometimes in this one. Matthew Vaughn would be a good option too. I think Mangold has proven that he has a good enough vision for X-Men films as long as there isn't massive studio interference.

Shane Fagan Future Past was supposed to do that but they fucked up the first movie in (Fant4stic), and the first sequel to it (Apocalypse, which I still liked but it wasn't nearly as good as the first two in that trilogy). And every movie since Future Past has been Pg-13 or R (Fant4stic and Apocalypse were Pg-13, Deadpool and Logan were R). Since they already rebooted to correct the mistakes of the past, do you want them to reboot after after single screw up? So far post-Future Past it's been 50-50 on the quality. Two good movies, two not so good movies. I don't need yet another reboot. Too many have made me stop caring as much about Spider-Man. Every time I get attached to a character, they scrap the franchise and reboot. While DC has certainly had a rocky start, at least they're sticking to their guns and just trying out new strategies without needing to erase all their progression. I'm glad that Fox just did their reboot already and while some decisions have been questionable, rebooting again so soon would be ridiculous. Just make Deadpool 2 good, make X-Men Nova good. The only viable reboot option is Fantastic Four. I'll admit I actually like Fant4stic but figuratively-literally no one else did so it might be financial poison to do a sequel, so rebooting that again, probably last minute, might be their next thing.
