Absolutely chilling. The lyrics of the song. A man standing alone in the spotlight, abandoned by his band mates and at rock bottom. Probably the most sobering moment for Gener.

Not that you will be able to see me, But I was there, front row to the right of the stage. I was suppose to go with a friend. But she sketched out on me and wouldn’t give me the ticket I payed for. She made up a lie and said she had already afforded it to her new male interest who was already flying in. I knew she was lying. I went to the venue with some other friends to purchase another ticket for the night. I was offered one for free by the venue after telling my story. The seats were five rows from the front. Not like anyone was sitting in the first three rows. My original ticket was for the left side of the balcony. I sent her pictures of my upgraded accommodations I think it bothered her that she wasn’t able to ruin my Ween streak of experiences. When I saw her after the show, she wouldn’t speak to me, and had a sour look on her face.

Seems kind of perverse. Pretty sure Aaron Freeman doesn't even want this stuff posted on the internet. I recognize that's not up to him, but it seems sort of voyeuristic to treat it as some memorable moment in the band's musical history. They'll probably never record another studio album. The band is very much in the epilogue phase of its career. Just sort of seems like people are. Romanticizing a very sad moment.

I think I've finally figured out why Claude and Glenn switched instruments. They couldn't play along with Gene without sounding like crap because his timing was so off, but they didn't want to just leave him there. By switching instruments they found a way to back their friend without jeopardizing their own reputation as musicians.

For a guy this talented to be that off his game.... painful. I was there with my Ween fanatic 14 year old daughter (dad's influence obviously) and she had no idea what was going on as this was her first Ween show. I knew exactly what was going on. He appears to be doing great! The shows these last years have been great and they are looking dope. They look happy
@GregStallion5 жыл бұрын
@@CiggyRat Yeah. :) It warms my heart and I have complete faith in him, because staying sober isn't easy. I've lost loved ones to both alcoholism and substance abuse, so I'm just praying to Boognish that he continues stays clean for the sake of his family, not just Deaner and the rest of the band. As we all know, this is about his life, and not his career. He's needs to remain happy and healthy, so at the end of the day, we fans come last and that's perfectly fine. Anyway, I saw them in Boston as soon as they reformed and it was great (despite being one of the most violent and stupid concert crowds I've ever been in). Also, I was super fortunate to see them at age 15 way back in 2009 as well. Both times, they were at their peaks for post-album performances. I know Deaner's got the Dean Ween Band and the Moistboyz and Gener has his Aaron Freeman/Gene Ween solo stuff, but I really hope they put a new Ween album out soon.
@CiggyRat5 жыл бұрын
I have faith on the boys too. It seems that Aaron understood what's important to him and has now new priorities. I think they all are going easier on alcohol and drugs now. Deaner doesn't drink on stage as often as he did before, and I believe Gene will keep it together. You are lucky you could see them live! It's got to be amazing. I am in southamerica and they don't come here. A new Ween album would be fantastic, but I don't know if we will ever have it. Altought, if another one were to be released, I'd bet for a Shinola Vol. 2 with some of the demos and rarities that were never released. Maybe even a few new tracks, who knows? In summary, they are taking it easy, which is fine Is Freeman still a thing? The Freeman album is DOPE.

No. No single show ended them... They continued the tour after this. It was a combination of several things. Gener deflected from his issues and claimed that Deaner's unwarranted release of the Caesar Demos was what ultimately broke them up, but that was obviously not the case. His desire to get sober is what prompted the break-up, and no one can fault him for that. Anyway, they broke-up a week before I graduated high school... My best friend (who is in a Ween-inspired band with me), called me up during the second morning of my senior class trip... With the obvious exceptions of moving several times as a kid and losing various friends and immediate family, it was easily one of the worst days of my entire life, and a horrible start what would be my last Summer before my first year of college. I saw them in Boston as soon as they reunited and, with the exception of what was quite possibly the most annoying, violent and intoxicated audience ever, it was a great show.

Gene survived the inner war inside of himself. It might not look like it but this performance probably saved his life.
