I recap the dyno test done and give a summary of what happened. Sorry I kind of gave up on the video. Website: www.wengines.com Email:weingartnerracing@gmail.com

You don't suck at videos Eric. Granted your no entertainer. But you just give the facts straight up and many thank you for that.. the effort you've put in is huge. Thankyou.

Watch videos more than once. Ordered my 2023 final book a few days ago. I was so happy a few years back when I found a deal for brand new victor jr for $175, now im looking for and older one. Maybe I will check out the trick flow r. And I have wanted cast iron heads like dart or world, but now only worlds are available. But at least you have me looking at promaxx heads. The flow numbers are crazy!! So maybe! Anyway. I share, watch, like, go back and watch again your videos! Great info!!!

Excellent video, I always enjoy watching your videos all the way to the end. And this one by far is the best because you had the results of the manifold i was interested in. Lol but now it has changed my mind on what one to look for now. Sure glad you took the time to test these and post the results well worth the wait.

Thanks Eric. For my application i went with edelbrock rpm and spacer was needed. I used the open cheap spacer.

I really like your overview of all the manifolds but the coolest is definitely the tunnel ram

Thanks for you time, effort and money you spent on the research you've put into this. I recently dug out a victor 4+4 intake, it was advertised with an rpm range of 5,000 - 8500. I'd be very curious how it stacks to the jr...

Thank you. Very curios to your thoughts on the Brodix 1016 dual plane. They come cast with port exits very small to match 60’s cast iron heads. Sub 1204 size. I wonder if you would have tested the version opened to 1206 how much better results would of been

The Weiand 7530 is a very very low profile manifold for low hood clearance . Lower than EDe Perf Rpm A Gap / There are 1 inch and 2 inch taller versions of the Weiand manifold , Dyno testing all 3 would be the fairest test.. Do you have a link to the dyno chart for the 7530 ???

Interesting trend, the manifolds that had slight twist in the runners did really well, the ones that were more rectangular all the way through weren't as good.

Hey Eric, out of curiosity, where did the PP Hurricane come in? I have a 385 SBC with a Chinese version Hurricane 6" rods SCAT AFR 195 Eliminators. ISKY HYD ROLLER 294° 246° @ .050 .550 lift on a 108° LSA installed on a 102° ICL I probably went to small one The head's. Anyway I was just wondering what you thought about the PP intake and the whole combo. As for your videos, I watch them all the way to the end; sometimes TWICE!!! Keep them coming

I've seen a bunch of video's and people cut the divider down in a dual plane about a half inch. I did a google search but couldnt find anyone that had completely removed the divider and then opened up the plenum to all the runner mouths, radiusing all corners as much as possible. I'd be curious to know what this would do to flow, especially in a dry flow application like a multi point EFI with injectors at the head ports. Would it behave like a single plane ?

Good stuff Eric question what do you think about the 2840 sbc tunnel ram with the single 4 barrel , descent torque /hp ? Compared the the rpm air gap 355 comp 270 4 speed car 3.73
@WeingartnerRacing6 ай бұрын
The tunnel ram I tested made considerably more horsepower and torque than the rpm

I watched this and tried to list all that you put out in peak hp and torque ...... In the initial head test from lowest to highest was only a 6% change in power and with head swap you gained like 10% with then a small percentage change in power from intake to intake ..... So here is what i take away from all the tests Intake does not matter a lot and those that have smaller runner and longer runner do better especially on the big camshaft race engine you are testing on That your intake mods dont amount to much at all which is also backed up with the intake you did for the Cadillac engine that made the exact same HP as untouched one when i ran it on the dyno The main gain in hp is with a head that flows more And that port match is important which we knew and air runs at the top of the port which we knew Lastly that intake design is probably more about lower rpm then peak and probably lower rpm then you are testing and with less camshaft then you are using
@WeingartnerRacing6 ай бұрын
I believe I ported that intake for the purpose of being used on a 500 plus cubic engine with the ported cad company heads. Did you test it on that? The intake will only allow the heads to perform at their best. If the heads are ok the intake can’t make up for it. That is why there was little difference in power when the lesser heads were on. Now that it has better heads the numbers change more.
@scotthatch45486 ай бұрын
@@WeingartnerRacing have not tested the heads yet as I have a lot more to do since Cortney passed away but in your testing you did not change the port much Cortney and I talked about getting the test head back and doing something more drastic to it then send it back to you to test that port again I may have Robert call you and arrange that but l have been busy with the other intakes we make along with regular parts .. I also heavily modified one of the damaged intakes like you ported to test on the Dyno just need to decide the best test engine to run it

@@WeingartnerRacing and it was tested on a 540 cid with basic ported aluminum heads back to back with same as cast intake
@WeingartnerRacing6 ай бұрын
I didn’t know Courtney had passed away. The head I ported him was much larger than stock. He asked for ports in stock location. The flow was up quite a bit from stock. The biggest problem with the head is it is undervalved. The test head was cut to larger 2.350 intake valve size and raised but is not useable because you need a larger intake seat. The test piece is here if someone wants to use it but I want one of Courtney’s heirs to sign off on it.
@WeingartnerRacing6 ай бұрын
The basic ported of the heads still flows less than the intake stock making it not the restriction.
