Just when you thought Bit Museum couldnt find anything weirder or more obscure! Behold the regal Entex AdventureVision.
Straight outta Compton, the AdventureVision is truly a console to behold. With its mere 40 LED lights and one double-sided spinning mirror (!), this portable console achieves a truly mystifying technique of displaying a 40×150 Pixel display, playing some of your arcade favorites in brilliant monochrome.
Pull up a chair and get your eyedrops ready.the AdventureVision is one of game historys most fascinating and elusive creatures!

Awesome video! I remember back when those were going for $50, being that they now go for $800-1000 I wish I bought all of them! Same goes for Vectrex!

My parents had some guests when I was in my teens whose kids bought one of these and played with it at our house. So I have seen one of these once. I was impressed by the screen idea. It may have seemed a bit whacky but it worked in a similar way to a 1920s TV set with a rotating disk inside.

I remember playing one of these back when they were being sold. I don't recall there being any wobble to the image. Maybe some flicker. But it wasn't that bad. I'm willing to bet that the wobble, and extreme flicker that you're seeing in this video are more a result of the system's age. I recall the units having a lot better performance than the one in the video. These things were actually pretty groundbreaking for what they were back in the day. The minus was that these units were horribly expensive for the time period, and the thing only had four games. Your average kid would not be getting one of these for Christmas. The parents just didn't go for buying these expensive things for the most part. They usually opted for the cheapest handheld games.

I played mine so long that the joystick broke off, i played it every minute of the day and never stopped until the world ended. After the joystick broke off I took a screw and screwed it into the base of the joystick and used that until it no longer worked that way either. The world ended when this game no longer worked, I would now die to have another one working and able to play it.

That's awesome that you've got some games. I unfortunately have the 1. If those games you have are sitting around collecting dust, I'd be glad to give them an active new life in the Bit Museum! Let me know! :)

I played it so long the world ended, there was nothing else in this space left. Then the joystick broke off, so I replaced it with a screw, and continued to save the galaxy, then the screw broke the joystick mount inside and it was over, the end of the world was upon us and I sat back and watched every one perish in a blaze of fire. I miss my game.

You can't calculate the resolution from the frame rate. They're independent. You need to know the frequency of modulation of the LED strip to know how many horizontal pixels there are. Also, the wobble is probably fixable with a sturdier motor mounting, it looks like a resonance since it's considerably slower than the frame rate.

Mine didnt wobble that much, so this one might have been banged a little or something. I miss mine now... I'm crying inside.

I've got one of these...but i only have 3 of the 4 game cartridges...i'm missing the "Space Force" cartridge. I just saw on Ebay...its selling for $500 plus shipping...just for the cartridge! Oy! So, I'm wondering how much my console one is worth with just the 3 games...it still works, too! I bought it a long long time ago at a yard sale.

Wow, that is a crappy looking system. No wonder it only sold 50,000 units. Wobbly and flickery screens should have went away with Pong. And yes, I know it was the early 80s, but other early 80s systems didn't do that.
