"The Touhou Wiki" has a lot of pages because it was imported from the previous host before Fandom (then Wikia). Later on, when Wikia started going downhill we tried to migrate it out, but found that you actually aren't allowed to leave Wikia/Fandom if your wiki is "too popular". When the Touhou Wiki staff tried, their accounts were locked and they were replaced by Wikia staff, as they no longer "represented the community". I got involved when that happened, ran the new host for some time, and Wikia staff were downright vindictive in their quest to kill the migration. Any editor who even alluded to a replacement wiki was banned, all content the authors wrote had to be manually moved to the new site, and not only did Wikia staff copy our changes from the new host back to the Wikia, we had repeated vandalism from Wikia office IP addresses. We tried to lay it to rest years ago, but out of desire for that sweet sweet ad revenue, Wikia/Fandom keeps it shambling on, and I still hold a grudge against them for how we were treated.

Ever since Wikia changed to Fandom, things got way too difficult to navigate and find any type of information for any game... God bless the Wiki net editors. Kudos for the share of forgotten content of our community.

TVTropes used to be pretty bad (in regards to Touhou) but one guy singlehandedly improved a lot of the character pages

there is an entire subculture of "fictional tv show" fandom pages, they usually have some weird name like burngoberrie (don't think it would be right to list any others) and have an uncountable number of pages describing unrelated hyper-specific material like episode count, when the show "aired", the "actors" involved, descriptions of storyboards, etc... with limited detail in the actual story or purpose of this imaginary media. sometimes they have actual video content, sometimes not. Pooh's Adventures is like the most infamous of all (incidentally Reimu has her own page there too) because it has thousands of pages just listing fictional movie after fictional movie after fictional movie. these fake shows typically feature crossovers with other fictional works or are even straight up sequels/spin-offs/re-imaginings of other shows. that's the only reason it's possible to find these webpages is because they set up character pages for all these crossovers (ranging between sonic characters, anime, tv, to even fucking touhou and beyond). but the wild thing is that even for the fandom projects that look like they have a bunch of people involved, if you really check you'll see that it is almost always manufactured by only one or two people. the level of dedication is.....astounding.

You should've included the MAGICAL Chinese Touhou wiki next to the main one. It has exact hitboxes, precise DPS info, formulas for many, many things, extremely accurate killtimes and an immense amount of technical information that can't be found anywhere else (to be fair, each individual piece of knowledge is likely also present on some forums, but not collected into a single enormous archive)

burngoberrie is the tv show of all time, the characters were written, the story was made, the animation was animated, my favorite part is when burngoberrie says "It's burngoberring time" and then proceeds to burngoberry the bad guys alongside reimu hakurei, really says alot about how the pale king is actually the good guy in hollow knight.

Admittedly a tad surprised you haven't covered the Sexypedia (Tumblr sexyman wiki) considering how there's at least a handful of Touhou characters there Both Yukari and Junko are listed as milfs and both them and Utsuho are listed as 'Vriska archetype' it's god damn wild

The Gensokyo Warfare mod is, pretty fun, but some of the models came straight from hell or are meme potential, I recommend it if you ever play mount and blade warband I really recommend it!

The Ohga Shrugs wiki and especially the Burngoberrie wiki remind me of when I accidentally stumbled into the “Ultraverse” wiki in my early days of being a Puyo fan. It has a bunch of lore for characters from different series that completely off and even lore about the real world like how there’s only one company or something. By that point I had known mostly everything about the Puyo characters so I was just incredibly confused. It kinda felt like a surreal experience and I’m glad that I’m not the only person to have gone through an experience like it.

I hate how Villains Wiki has Touhou characters that don't even classify as villains or being "evil". They even have characters like Flandre and Byakuren, who are nowhere near close to being either. Not to mention the Touhou characters mostly have a grey morality to begin with. Then again, it's not a surprise, given how that wiki is known for classifying characters wrong.

Here's my thoughts on some of the Wikis: There are few things that amuse me more than a holier-than-thou wiki author that toots their own horn in their own articles even though most of their links are broken and the wiki's not even accurate. I thought I wasn't going to see another wiki quite like Giantess Wiki (which I'm certain only showed up in my timeline because their mascot appears in Google Images), but I'm glad to be proven wrong. I'd say the Heroes Wiki confused Reimu and Sayo/Pocky from the Kiki Kaikai/Pocky and Rocky series. It baffles me how Sakuya's in the Villains Wiki even though she was only doing her job in Touhou 6 and became a recurring protag since Touhou 7. I already don't like Death Battle or the VS Wiki, but the Touhou series really doesn't fit the powerscaling side thanks to spellcard duels being deliberately designed to put everyone on the same weight class and rely on beauty and skill instead. Not to mention both have a tendency to have characters go OOC just so their raw power is the only thing that matters.

Also adding to the siiva and touhou stuff, ZUN was a contestant in the KFAD tournaments (king for a day and king for another) and while he didn't win in either, those brought a bunch of cool touhou remixes so maybe yeah siiva counts as doujin circle? Lol

one of the dev team for Gensokyo Warfare here.... some fellows in charge of the wiki has been inactive, plus other devs didn't really take a look on it since we have our own discord server where people can just ask the stuffs the base game itself is a medieval warfare rts + rpg, where you can be a mercenary or a lord, lay siege, even marry other nobles and oh, currently the newest version stopped development for the time being until Bannerlord reached stable release, the constant updates breaks our modules and the coders are crying in the corner, they don't even want to touch Warband again (coding is a mess)

The Touhou Wiki(the Fandom one) is actually what I used to get into Touhou. Of course I was introduced through Bad Apple!!(specifically a Synthesia cover since I used to watch Black MIDI videos) but I used it to go one-by-one on character descriptions. I remember cluelessly starting from HRtP instead of EoSD(since the character list was in game/boss order) and getting frustrated that it started with so many short pages.

Touhou Fandom page is kind of a weird story. The regulars there were the current people in touhouwiki, but at some point they jumped ship stating that Wikia was somehow trying to claim all content written on it as it's own property or some weird shit like that (they really saw the writting on the wall, considering how terrible an experience it is to navigate Fandom as of now). The current state of the Fandom page really shows how important these people were for the Wikia and are for the Wiki.

This video is great man, more than exceeded the expectations your initial teasers for it set. Your script is incredibly solid and well written (That Linux joke also made me chuckle a bit more than it should have.), I wish I could put together something even a quarter as good, and your editing is super solid, great video overall man! Also damn you, you're gonna send me on another lost media search for a game titled "Touhou: The Visual Novel", hopefully it wont be as ridiculous as when I tracked down one simply called "Toho Strike". Also didn't expect you to touch on the Versus Battle wiki, and this one is a liiiiittle personal for me so I guess I'll elaborate on some of it's issues, if you're willing to read a bit. A lot of the Touhou end VSBW wiki is incredibly outdated with an absurd amount of incomplete profiles, an uncountable amount of not included abilities, stats and scaling all over the place, fanon used as reasoning for some scaling, and a lot of fanwork in the place of actual official artwork, among other things. That's because the moderators and general users sort of... abandoned Touhou on the Wiki for several years, at least since around LoLK/AoCF's release to my knowledge. Me and a small group of other members in the 2hu community have been trying pretty hard to fix up the profiles and put way more time than we reasonably should be putting into such a silly little subsect of internet debating, but we're passionate about it. We've done a lot of progress to the verse, justified some scaling/feats, removed a lot of shitty fanon reasoning, added official artwork, added several profiles (such as Yuuma), and generally fixed a lot of out of date info, but we're still very, very behind. The reason it's not all fixed up by now is.... that the mods generally aren't very receptive to handling Touhou. Most of them aren't knowledgeable on the series, and the ones who are have long since become inactive/no longer care about the verse. So it results in any CRT or attempted revision on the site getting stonewalled by a single person who disagrees (usually for silly reasons, like not understanding how Dreams in Touhou work) or they just end up completely and utterly ignored by mods in flavor of say, DMC, Bleach or Naruto getting its 12th revision that week. In general, there's a small group of people working to have the wiki be as canonical/accurate as possible and fill in a lot of gaps when it comes to Touhou's characters, abilities, and scaling, but it's just nearly impossible to make any progress due to lack of interest/lack of knowledgable mods to actually. I don't expect the verse to get any kind of meaningful amount of correctness to it until Touhou makes it onto a major Versus show like Death Battle (which is surprisingly likely since they've talked about it before), there's a major reshaping of the mod team, or several years from now where after a long arbitrary and obnoxious battle, we finally get enough revisions through to get the verse up to snuff. I'd like it to be at a good place, but eh, can only do so much when it's just a handful of people. I know versus stuff is usually seen as silly but I've always been somewhat passionate about it, the art of who could punch who in the face harder has always been a fun time for me.

I played the Gensokyo Warfare mod quite a bit and it's pretty impressive! Fighting with OR against Remilia in battles sucks though because half the time she'll use a nuke attack that I have only ever been able to barely survive...and said attack has friendly fire

Dunno if anyone mentioned it in the comments some time ago, but: Burngoberrie is an esoteric copy of the not-so-good TV series, Brickleberry. It's apparent when you look at few of the episode's title: Two Months Notice = Two Weeks Notice Rather Games = Ranger Games Trip to Mash = Trip to Mars etc, etc, etc, you get the idea by now. The creator of Burngoberrie, Billy Gardiners, even appears on the same wiki of the show that he created, with only the text: "I Got A Goanimate". Goanimate was rebranded to Vyond in mid 2018. Speaking of Vyond, the studio vyond uses is drastically different than goanimate's, with limited character style compared to what goanimate had to offer. Because of this, the creator decided to mostly use pictures of characters instead. Also, there were plans for season 4, 5, and 6... These didn't come to light, probably to coincide with the cancellation of brickleberry. There were even episode titles planned for season 4 only, which has some oddities like: "Karate Shoppers", "Yellow Blood", "Yong Yong Kong", and "Don't Be That". Also, ALSO, there is a page for Pawing ED, which is a knockoff of brickleberry's sequel, Paradise PD. Currently, there is not much episode on the wiki relating to pawing ED. I wrote this for hours idk why I'm doing it, but I guess I gotta share a lil more info regarding burngoberrie..,

19:47 even tho the mmd main software is pretty dated, you can import mmd models in to much more powerful 3d software such as blender, which gives you incredible amount of freedom. mmd models also come with a decent amount of benefits such as fairly usable rigs, face expressions, sliders for clothing etc. there are also tons and tons of poses and other resources which help with the artistic creation. the only downside are the textures, however you can use blender to expand further on the base textures like adding subsurface scattering, normalmaps etc.

As someone who likes keeping their lore and fandom separate, this video was nightmare inducing. Bravo.

I'm on The Touhou Wiki on Fandom, and just saying, it is a ghost town. Occasionally a week can go by without a single edit. And there are maybe 4 active users on it, and it is mainly just Touhou LostWord discussion. Really sad, no admins or mods either.

Half of these might as well be called shitpost or stolen wiki (wouldn't surprised if one of those did exist) with how much shitposting and stealing is on them. Although I find some of them pretty funny. Omniversal Battlefield Wiki definitely has the four year-old mentality you mentioned in the video because *none* of the pages for the small cast of Touhou characters have a list of victories, loses or even ties. Like someone brought up their favorite gal from Gensokyo but didn't bother to mention any fights they were in and if they lost any, and Marisa's page has fanart of her PC-98 appearance (and is also the *only* page in the entire Touhou section to give credit to the artist which makes me think they were all grabbed from a Google search) but Reimu *doesn't* have art for her PC-98 appearance and yet is listed in the category for PC-98 Canon and Shinki *isn't even **_in_* the same category despite *only* appearing in the PC-98 games and is barely referenced in the Windows era. The whole wiki just feels like someone heard about Touhou, did some light research by looking up characters from either TV Tropes or sites like Danbooru and then made shit up for the sake of having *something* on the pages. Also, everything from Flan's page is poorly copied from another wiki called Moegirlpedia with the same art used for Flan intact and even properly credited! But the site only has the cast of EoSD, Reimu and Marisa available and bizarrely enough Cirno's tan design has her own page on the site but is just a basic description of everyone's favorite idiot with Cirno's tan design rather than her basic design. As a matter of fact, Marisa, Reimu, Aya and Cirno all use their official art from HSiFS while the EoSD cast either use art from EoSD, Hisoutensoku/Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, Double Dealing Character or have no art whatsoever, not even fanart like what Flandre has. And that's literally *all* the characters that have pages on Moegirlpedia, the rest are all blank and don't have anything whatsoever.
