I went to Wekiwa SP last August! My first time back in 30 years! Use to go all the time in late 70’s . The swimming area was just packed like sardines!! Camping area is well maintained. Rode bicycles to Wekiwa island just downstream from park . That was fun swimming with less people and a relaxing atmosphere! I probably won’t go back . Just isn’t the same to me from many decades ago . Thanks for your review John ! 😁👍

We just left Wekiva Springs State Park. Highly recommend taking a 15 minute drive to Kelly Park at Rock Springs. Beautiful clear spring and a great area for tubing and swimming. We did find some campsites at Wekiva better than others. The site photos can be misleading as very few sites have any gravel left. It is a beautiful park which the rules aren’t being enforced as much as many other parks. Kids less than 14 were riding electric bikes rather fast constantly and not wearing helmets as required by state law. The fire pits were not being cleaned by the hosts when we were there either. There is some road noise, but the beauty of the park makes up for it. Will definitely go back!

Hi John. We stayed at Wekiwa Springs Campground in 2023 and loved it! I set a trail cam up overnight at our campsite. And to my surprise captured a black bear and a coyote passing right through our campsite. We also saw a few turkeys strolling through too. Loved the spring, hiking and kayaking there too. Definitely one of my favorites!

We just made a call to the Florida State Parks Reservation Center because the Wekiwa Springs campground reservation system is inoperable as far out as we could see in early 2025. We learned that the campground is to be closed for maintenance, and the rough estimate given us by the man at the reservation center was that Wekiwa's campground will be closed until May 2025. Here's hoping this information helps others seeking Wekiwa reservations!
