Welcome Gus the Weimaraner and Daisy the Poodle to the pack

2 жыл бұрынWhat a day! We pack so much into our farm days, this is almost a movie length feature 🤣 !! Grab some popcorn maybe?? 🙈
We welcomed two new pack members into our pack today. Gus the 6 month old Weimaraner and Daisy the 6 month old Standard Poodle.
Both Gus and Daisy had a great day! Gus immediately resonated with the energy of the pack, he was ready to have fun! He made pals with Gertie the Weimaraner who’s super fast zoomies were irresistible to not get involved too!
Daisy hasn’t had many social experiences, so spent some of her morning on lead to stay with the pack. It didn’t take long for Daisy to see the pack was only friendly and safe and so she was very happy to be a part of it all. Well done Daisy.
Gilbert started relocating Uncle Luke’s hat early in the day. Could his smile really get any bigger??
Uncle Luke hid in the bush, up a tree to be exact. There were some real contenders in the hunt to find him. We had a few Beagles, Gilbert surely could sniff that hat out anywhere … but who found Uncle Luke can you guess??
Dash our beautiful old girl GSP has finally found a squeaky toy she cannot destroy and her day was made. She carried it around all day incredibly happy.
Lunchtime, the doggies all had chicken together. The shelter dogs all got chicken too.
In the pool, Gilbert made us laugh with his hat antics. That all he wants is to make us laugh. What a wonderful soul he has right?!
There was one time, Uncle Luke went under tot he bottom to hide from Gilbert and if you watch the sideline, dear Lily the GSD becomes incredibly concerned for his welfare. Hard not to think of our beautiful boy Riker doing the exact same thing in his day.
Ziggy finally goes in for a swim with some encouragement, way to go Ziggy!
Yoyo meets the Friday pack. The shelter pack eat their delicious chicken. And we end the perfect day with Lucy’s beautiful puppies 😍

He did a video a while back about the hats, described his favorite and why. Like 4 days later a brand new one was delivered to the farm for him. Such a generous surprise!

He needs to get a Tilley hat. They come with a life time replacement guarantee. They are Canadian based, withe some interesting testimonials. My dad had one replaced 3 times, wearing out the first 3. At 85 years I had to remind him to get # 3 replaced. Had it until he died at 92. I inherited it and cherish it with fond memories.

Lily, the German Shepherd cracks me up, she is always looking at Luke like, 'why do you allow this chaos, I can have them rounded up like sheep in less than 5 minutes."

I love your interpretation of Lily’s expression! To me she has always seemed anxious and motherly- which is why when I saw her playing merrily with a stick the other day, I was so pleased. Now I can think of her with your “dog thought” instead, and giggle!

@@eleanorgordon9228 German Shepherds are all I've ever owned the last 40 yrs.. and with Lily, i can see her thinking....'wait your turn to jump in the pool'... 'don't do that, you will get hurt'...'everyone be quiet'....and 'let me take count'....hahaha, all my Shepherds have been like this too, especially the females....mine are nervous when there are no rules, they like rules. They like things in order...and she sticks to Luke, like she is a chaperone ...lol.... and you are right, Lily's does seem motherly, maybe that is why she has these expressions..:) i just love her so...

Another milestone in Yoyo's journey - without a lead in the middle of the pack for the first time! Congratulations to him and all his helpers! And so much fun for the pack, welcoming Gus and Daisy, running, playing hide and seek, meeting Elle, swimming... And of course so much laughter looking at Gillie. Did anyone count how often he got the hat today?

Still a joy to see young Ziggy bouncing along happily with the pack, and now swimming! What a gorgeous dog Daisy is, I don't see many standard poodles where I am. It's only when you see the standards that it really clicks, "Ohh yes, they were hunting dogs too!". I'm sure she's going to fit in just fine. Dash really does look delighted with her toy, long may it last for her. What a new joy it is to see Elle so thrilled to be able to be in amongst the dogs, made my grin even wider. Good job finding Uncle Luke, Milo! He's one of my favorites, and such an incredible swimmer...he's always in the pool circling Luke. Happy Dash with her toy, so sweet! And how nice for YoYo to be off leash with the pack, and what great manners the shelter dogs now have, even eating inches away from each other. Always sweet to see the youngsters too..Elle learning names, Wolfric sleeping blissfully, and Lucy's pups with their now-working tails! Have a great weekend everyone!🥰🥰

Milo was not on anyone’s list to find Luke, but fair play to the tenacious little man he found him. I must admit I did clap for him. 🥳 And those puppies are getting big now. Won’t be long before they’re having little outdoor adventures. Koda and Bella are stunning, so in tune with kids. And the legend that is Gilbert, wow, what a magnificent thief never ceases to turn any moment into a hat nabbing moment. This video was awesome. And lastly welcome to Daisy and Gus. ❤️❤️

Hats off to Milo for finding Uncle Luke in the tree! Speaking of hats off….Gilly was in fine, focused form today snatching Uncle Luke’s hat. Poor Uncle Luke couldn’t keep it on his head! I guess that’s the price you pay for having fun. How I love to hear the doggies bark with excitement on the bush hunt. I’m off to see the new James Bond movie, but I have to tell you, as much as I love James Bond, his action movies don’t engage me nearly as much as your Farm videos do. Sam, believe you me, we don't mind how long the video is. They are great, no matter what :-) Very nice shots of different dogs playing together and of course the hide and seek... great. Now I know it wasn't a bird in the bush. It was the squeeky toy! hahaha. Lunchtime was fun and I am the verge of opening my mouth to help a dog catch hahaha! O Gilly... what can I say? Welcome Gus and Daisy! Gilbert, you always make me smile! This game of Hide and Seek is getting more suspenseful every day, LOL! Will Luke find the right tree? Will he be able to climb it? Which dog will find him first? When will they all learn to look up? I don't know who's having more fun, me, Luke, Jason, Adam, Sam or the dogs! I can't believe how big the puppies are getting. Lucy is such a good mom. YoYo just gets more and more comfortable every day, keep it up YoYo!

What a video today. It had everybody. A blink and you will miss Wolfric, the girls, Koda seems to love Elle. The new dogs settling in, the shelter dogs demolishing chicken dinner, the pack action-filled day with the great sniff-off,. ending with a look at the growing puppies getting socialized to Luke and a Lucy belly rub from Adam, Sam I hope you have a rest-filled weekend.

So wonderful to see everyone back in full swing at the farm. The work that the shelter dogs are putting in is really paying off for them. And ziggy fits right in, with Yo Yo right behind. So many things to say, but my moment of the day was when Milo found Luke in the tree! A close second was Gilbert's determination to 'get the hat' game. Well done everyone!!

Loved watching Daisy figure out the pack. Had a standard poodle 45 years ago. Still partial to the breed. She looks like a sweetie and will soon be a full on Farm dog.

Don't forget the heated mag pool and the dam! The big mag pool is still too chilly after their winter but they'll start to use it soon for the dogs that love water regardless of the temp.

Yay for Milo for looking up. Interesting to watch them picking up the scent, walk around the general area, but not look up. Loved seeing Gilbert back playing his games and talking. Laughed at Dash, I know her jaws had to be tired. Puppies are adorable and it want be long before they will be escaping from the whelping box. Sam, the flowers at the front of house are beautiful. So colorful.

What a lovely day at the Farm. Nice to see two more young dogs in the pack. Daisy is elegant. Wait till she gets her farm legs. The cockers this week have shown to not underestimate them. They have big sniffers. (I had one for over 10 years - she loved mountain hikes. Went wild like Milo with so much to sniff. She liked birds and was often barking up the trees.)
