I grew up in East Harlem & everything he said was spot on. That dead end with St.Anns & the nuns was a dangerous spot because it was never lit. A lot of people didn’t know the chopped cheese originated on 110th & 1st so I’m glad he said that.

When I go to New York now with other people they never understand why I couldn’t care less about anything but going up past 100th street and Lexington and hitting up the bodegas and hanging out with all the good people there in Harlem. I saw some crazy shit when I was walking and knocking doors in all those projects but man I miss and love the people of Spanish Harlem. The Dominicans and Puerto Ricans especially, good food! You should also talk about the racism there was between Puertoricans and Mexicans in the late 80’s - 90’s.
