ATTN! Edit 4/7/21....a viewer informed me that you don’t want to use a wooden drying rack. It stained her fabric. So only use a plastic rack or cover your wooden rack with pool noodles.
I am a starchoholic. Ever since I discovered this method of starching, I've been hooked. I don't really have a big fabric stash, but I do have a stash of starch! It's not for everyone but just try it once and see what you think. Starching my fabric helps me to end up with perfect, cutting and seam allowances.

I do the same thing in my garage, no shower for drainage; so I put towels underneath to catch the dripping. However, I do wring it out and have no issues as I smooth out the fabric on the rack. I also pour what is left of the starch back into the empty starch bottle (with funnel) and cap it. I like the pool noodle idea! I’m going to try the fan too. Thanks! A weird thing is, I just bought StayFlo yesterday from Walmart and this video showed up this morning on my KZfaq as suggested.

I mix 50% water and 50% starch. Also, I add a couple oz of rubbing alcohol. (Alcohol increase the evaporation and prevent the starch getting stale. I pour the solution in a garden pump sprayer

I use the Stay Flow starch also... however I mixed it 2 parts water 1part starch and put it in a spray bottle. I spray starch all my fabric before I cut them into pieces, and have had great results...

I was wondering if I could use it like that. Spray bottle method. I'll give it a try. Thanks

Thats how I do it as well. To me, it’s easier than dipping the fabric.

yes, sooo much less expensive than the Mary Elen's best press, and it makes the fabric a little bit stiffer.

Hi Lori, from Arizona! I will be back in SD in a few. More weeks! After watching your video about starching, I was wondering about spray starch. It wouldn’t be such a mess, but let me know what you think!

I’m not sure but I would be afraid of the overspray on my ironing board and surrounding area. It would probably work if you thinned it down more but then it defeats the purpose. If you try it, let us know how it works.

I've done it no problem. You just have to let it soak in a minute or so before you iron it dry, but you could also hang to dry it then iron as well.

I do wring my fabric out...squeeze it, not really wringing, so it isn't dripping, then I dry in the dryer if its over 2 yards. I like the idea of putting the drying rack in the bathtub to catch drips...especially good for smaller pieces of fabric...less than a yard.

Do you do this for precuts like jelly rolls, layer cakes and fat quarters?

I use steam that seems to soften any wrinkles out then dry iron.

Just know that when you spray starch them, most likely they will shrink. Believe me I know from costly experience.
