Loved this video. We’re moving to the Gold Coast in December due to work, I’ve watched many videos (I’ve never even been to the GC!) and this is the one that made me the most excited. Thanks for filming, you’ve really helped me and my family settle some nerves

Gold coast is the bomb!! Gr8 lifestyle all year round and its CLEAN. It never feels crowded and u can do as much or as little as u want. U get the chill vibe without having to rough it if u know wot i mean.

One of the most expensive places on earth as a digital nomad. Cool for a visit but doesn't make a lot of sense to me medium / long term unless you're Aussie...

The GC has been our home for over a decade. It has its cons, but in comparison to the hundreds of places we've experienced, it will always be our first choice for living. The nicest city in one of the nicest countries in the world!

Hi, cool lifestyle. I will travel the world in a few months. I live in Switzerland, it's ok, but it's not the country for me. Till now, I didn't consider Gold Coast in Australia, but I like it now. I will begin with some Caribbean islands, then Bali and the rest of the world, but it should be a safe place for women. Keep enjoying your life as long as you can.

Obviously Covid has changed everything. Many of us dont care about Kangaroo tours on a Digital Nomad thread but what about internet quality and reliability there and the best town in the area? For those who arent interested in co working spaces but work from our apt/hotel/room what is the cost and options there? Also visa requirements?

Whats the humidity like in dec-jan? Working hvac, so high heat and humidity is just death in full humidity. Im looking at moving here for at least 6 months from Vancouver Canada, to escape winter.Great informative video

I love the Gold Coast. But after 25 years in Australia, I need to do my round of Asia. Besides, realistically speaking, Australia is the most expensive country in the region and Gold Coast is not the cheapest place in Australia either. I seriously doubt it can be a viable option for too many non-Australians. Somebody like me (from Sydney) may go overseas a few years and come back to Gold Coast to settle down but maybe not too many from other countries. I am interested to see what happens a few years down the track. I bet you'll end up being a big corporate guy in Sydney. Mark my words!

Just one thing troubling me => maybe you have mentioned this and I missed it. Aren't most digital nomads (depending upon their origin) very restricted in how long they can remain in Australia? In any event, nice video. Thanx

Hmm, depends on who you talk to I guess. Mirko (in the video) seems to think it’s quite easy but he’s from Germany of course. One positive about Australia is that you can get a working holiday visa here and work legitimately for at least a few years. That option is not available in many other places around the world.

I'm from the UK and you can come here on a 3 month visa quite easily. If you're under 30 you can also get a working holiday visa for a year and it really was not hard to get.

The Gold Coast is not a cheap place to live :-( . The southern GC is much better than the northern GC for sure though. It will be even better down there once the tram extension is built to Burleigh Heads. For a day out you should check out Kings Beach just over into NSW ;-))))

Sure is. I've been here since 2008 on and off and have previously lived in Florida, Nevada and the UK. Australia in my opinion is more expensive day to day. House prices and rent here are high. Wages are high and you have penalty rates at the weekends here in Oz, but generally you have less left in your pocket each week (what I have found). For nomads on a tight budget I would seriously give it a pass. If on the other hand you earn decent coin in another currency ie. USD, then the conversion rate could make it worth while. :-)
