Hello there! I've had both the 60 inch and the 72 inch version of this same mower. My fields were primarily sandy loam....with more sand than loam. I learned after some research you can get what are effectively called "sand" blades for the deck that are thicker and able to take more of a beating. If you have a well manicured grass lawn, the medium or high lift blades will work better, give you a higher tip speed, and give you a much nicer cut. Best wishes!

Thank for your input ! Never would have considered that about Sand blades Not a real problem here but good to know ! My only concern with the Dixie is the arm controls they seem awfully thin in diameter? But the have been using them that way forever so must be ok Thanks again Phil

@@PetersonFarmsofNashvillePFON Hey there! The recommendation for the sand blades were for your forays into super high fields with your finish mower. The thicker blades will take more of a beating and last longer than the thinner high lift or medium lift blades in that type of material.

I know finishing mowers will tackle some tough stuff, but I wouldn’t put my finishing mower what you putting yours through lol. I’d hook up my Bush Hog. My finishing mower is a 6’ LMC brand, made by “Shaktiman” in India. It’s distributed by Lowery Manufacturing in Boaz, Alabama. Good video for sure!

I have the 1660 land pride and have been impressed how heavy duty it is. The mower alone weighed nearly as much as my old 23hp simplicity zero turn. Is it made for brush? No, but the blades are near 1/4” thick and at worst you dull them…or maybe break a belt. Not the end of the world either way. Thanks for the video. BTW what you got there on the hip? Besides tractors that’s my other ‘hobby’.
