Henlo, friends! I just wanted to say that I’m not sure if it was the mushrooms or not. There’s really no way to know for sure. Could even be something viral. The mushrooms were my best guess so I thought I would tell you about them. Thanks so much for all your thoughtful comments! ❤❤❤

Yes! I found some in the yard last week. But my Wyandotte just can’t stand up and I’ve had her in the house for 7 days. I have given her the egg yolks and some chicken electrolytes. Today she is gobbling it down. I am at a loss what to do.

I have a chicken that was hatched I thought with spraddle leg so I treated for that but her leg is still not normal twisted foot and sideways hip is swollen and she can't stand on it like the bone is stuck it won't straighten but she is about 3 months and still hanging there still eats and drinks just not sure if I can put her with the flock as she is 5x smaller than the rest

@@alexjimenez81If you can put her with your flock in a separate,safe area,then,maybe,after a couple weeks they may accept her.. if you just put her in,they will kill her,or,hurt badly…good luck…

A year ago, I asked my husband what he thought about getting some chickens for eggs. We agreed that it was out of our budget at that time. I rescued a rooster that renters next door left and didn't want. It had been more than 2 wks when my dog discovered it near our fence. My hubby went to a feed store and came home with a flyer that someone was getting rid of coop and chickens. We just had to go get them. Now we are the proud owners of 5 hens, a rooster, and a very large chicken coop and run. It only cost us our time. Praise God 👏 You are a great help to us beginners ❤

Maybe introduce wine cap mushrooms to your chicken yard. They are an aggressive growing fungus, they actually consume other funguses, and wine caps are safe for your birds and you if you eat mushrooms.

Great idea! I was thinking the same thing. They're so easy to grow. You just need some wood chips and you'll have more delicious mushrooms than you know what to do with in a short time.

Careful. Mycelium are EXTREMELY important to forested biospheres. Maybe others too, but definitely forests. Think hard before introducing a mushroom that's a noxious invader

I really appreciate you talking about things like this when it happens cause owning chickens isn't all sunshine and rainbows, as much as we want them to be. Sometimes I feel like I'm a bad chicken owner when all my birds start getting the sniffles or when one falls greatly ill

This is crazy! I work at a feed store and a customer came in telling me that she had a chicken walking backwards! This is honestly the first I'd ever heard of this. I didn't know what to tell her really, just gave her some ideas with supplements and food sources. The crazy part is, the very next day this video shows up. I do hope that she comes back soon and that I can mention this video to her. We also sell your book so I'll go ahead and mention that as well. Thank you for the ideas of what to do in this unique (to me) situation. Keep on chickening sweet girl. 🐓♥️

I think it's wonderful that you care so much about your chickens. This is not your fault!!! Thank you for sharing it. I am an Animal Control Officer and this is not an issue that many people think about, but I will bring it to the attention of other chicken lovers from now on. I just brought home a lost chicken from the city streets to rehab and would have never thought about her getting into mushrooms. We have several deadly species that grow in our yard. THANK YOU for being compassionate you. ❤ Sending love and best wishes from a hsp animal lover.

We had a 2yr. Bantam rooster with a couple episodes where he zoomed around the yard in like a panic. He raced in circles around the Hens w/o any apparent danger. It was like he went into total panic mode. A few weeks went by, he did it again. Shortly after that suddenly just dropped dead. Never found out what it was.

Wood charcoal is good for this too. Came across this video recently from a chicken farmer in Africa who said she used wood charcoal dust in her chicken coop, like in the water and food. She said it helped with avoiding certain ailments that chickens get, she also added that after 2 years her egg production didn’t go down. I’ve used active charcoal on myself and it was amazing. If bentonite clay has the same or similar benefits, it’s probably good to use it. I rubbed the charcoal powder on ti the roost bars to protect their feet, and in their bath boxes. It will definitely pull out any infection they may have just by exposing their skin to it, and if they ingest it also that will help too. Maybe I will mix in clay too, I’m sure it can’t hurt. Your vet sounds great btw. Hope your chickies are doing great!!

I get people telling me all the time that you don't need to be careful what you feed chickens because "they won't eat anything that will hurt them" and it's just not something I have ever gotten on board with. I've seen my girls try to eat things that are terrible for them and it just blows my mind that people have that attitude. If they were eating those mushrooms and that was the cause, that would be interesting. Either way, it seems like you've got it under control and that is awesome! As always, awesome video!

So Dahlia I posted earlier the strange things happening in my coop and today I went to gather eggs and one of my favorite silkie hens was dead in a nest box! 🤷🏻‍♀️ She was still warm! She hadn’t been acting sick, she’s been eating. What the heck is going on??

About 3 weeks ago we had a bear come through. I have two separate chicken runs, one for full sized hens and a Roo and the other was 3 Silkies, 2 hens and a rooster. The bear destroy fences around both runs and killed my little black Silky hen, Jill, who looked just like your baby. The bear also ate 30 lbs of the neighbors dog food, ransacked his barn that has horses and destroyed 2 bee hives. He came back the next night and pushed down the fences again, but the birds were secured in a different location. Then my SIL put a run of barbed wire along the top of the fence. So far so good. So sorry for your loss. I know how special each of them are.

I had a chicken who was losing her feathers to bullying and overbreeding. I let her free range the yard over the course of the last month and switched over their food and consistently treated them for mites even when I didnt see any. She was looking patchy all year with previous attempts. This is the first time she has been fully feathered all year. Now I can finally isolate the bully and put her back with the others. sometimes its a long process. and I have learned so much from your videos and podcast. Changing their diet has been the most improvement I have seen.

That deadly mushroom is Amanita phalloides, which I remember from Shirley Jackson's novel WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE CASTLE. You're so lucky to detect the cause, and we can look for it! We benefit from what you know, even the bad stuff. I understand wanting to quit. I want to quit existing, but I can't give up on my chickens--so my crafty birds trick me into keeping on. Chickens are indeed LIFE ITSELF. On Oct 20, my vet gave my little Deathlayer Squatch two weeks to live. She's slow and swollen, but still hanging on after a month. I got 5,000 mealworms and she's plowing through 'em like a fiend. I may have to make a hard decision, but Squatch will guide me the right way. I love her so.

@@cherylgawne711 Thanks, but my little Squatch has a huge inoperable tumor. I saw it on the x-ray, taking up almost 80% of her insides. I don't know how she's still going, but she's bright, engaged, and eating like mad. I vowed to keep her deliriously happy in her final days, but I didn't expect her to thrive as she's fading away. This past month has been a bittersweet mix of mourning and joy, showering her with attention and treats so she'll know how beloved she is. It's going to be a gutpunch for me when the hard reality finally comes.

@@Susie_Floozie put her on cannabis I’ve healed many animals’ cancers with it. Chickens are able to tolerate it. I use Rick Simpson Oil to treat cancers. Start with the tiniest dot (pinhead) and work up. Most animals are healed super quickly. That or you can try to completely fast her of food for 7-14 days in order to restart her whole immune system (poultry farms force moult their flocks this way) Really hoping your chook pulls through❤️ Please do look at his videos.. he may have one on tumours.. I haven’t looked into that

This spring I lost a few chickens too. They all got sick in the week one after another. I am still baffled with what happened. I want to purchase a bag of the redmond conditioner. I only use Redmond salt. I do have weird mushtooms that my Pug always gets into, but never thought about them bothering the chickens. People always tell me that if it's poisonous or bad an animal won't eat it but I don't really trust that. THANK YOU FOR SHARING❤

Chickens seem to try eating EVERYTHING! I had one sweet little hen who died from eating aluminum foil, and I've caught several of my birds trying to dine on styrofoam, so I keep all that stuff out of their reach.

HI, I have been watching your videos for almost a year now. I grew up on a farm and I still live here. I now have my own flock of 15 fluffies and I really enjoy them. I am so happy the kids are doing better, it's no fun when one isn't feeling well. I don't have a vet in my area so I am kind of on my own when it comes to helping the girls and Mr. Rosie. LOL Mr Rosie is another story. I don't know if this is something that will help but here goes. My neighbor gave my girl and Mr Rosie a store bought fruit twice, an as a result miss sage had sour crop. I went searching and found advice from you and many others. Some I did not like and won't try. I was lucky enough to catch it early both times. I tried a few to help her sour crop but they were not working. So I went to my own method and it helped her in just a single night. This is what I did for both times she had sour crop. I used a few drops of colloidal silver and had her drink this, then just before she went to roost I mixed up water with a bit of baking soda. I used a dropper and got about an ounce into her the first time and let her sleep. The next morning I was so happy, she was talking to me and not happy cuz she was a very hungry girl after 2 days. I feed her a scrambled egg and left her on the very very lite soda water for the rest of the day. She went back into the coop that night an was doing wonderful. A few weeks later my neighbor brought over a store bought watermelon (seedless) and two days later she had sour crop again. I emptied her crop and gave her the soda water and she was doing fantastic by the next morning. I kept her for one more day just to make sure she was eating and drinking good then back into the coop that night. I know some will say you can't do that. I have done this for myself for many many years. It really does help, and I still give them the colloidal silver in their water just to bump there immune system every 3 to 4 months. The soda helps to kill all the bacteria but also will help to detox them. I hope this helps and I look forward to your thoughts on this. Have a wonderful holiday.

I recently lost one of my 5 hens, her comb looked strange and she went fast, 2 days😢 i cleaned out the coop but i have watching and looking at the run. Everyone else looks good, two weeks have gone by. I pray its just one of those things and the others will remain healthy. They’re only about 7 mos old.

I am sorry for your loss but am thankful you discovered the problem in time to save 2 chickies. We had mushrooms growing at one end of our run and I hoed them down and covered them with rocks that my husband had bought for grit. The rocks were too big so I thought they would keep the chickens away from that spot. One day I accidentally threw scratch among those rocks and about 2 days later I had a hen who couldn't scratch herself without doing a somersault because of her very, heavy overloaded crop! I was so worried about her! I had not seen a crop that heavy before. I lost a precious hen last year to impacted crop, so I was pretty upset about this girl being so sick. My husband said we should just pray for her and trust God with her. So we did. She began to get better each day and now is back to normal. I am so relieved! The one I had lost was so painful for me & I just wasn't wanting that to happen again! I am guessing she overloaded herself on those big rocks!

Omgosh... I watch a fellow KZfaqr off grid with Doug and Stacy. They always talk about Redmond and the clay for humans. Never for Chickens. It's been on my list to buy but hadn't done it. I have a Leghorn that hasn't been doing good, I can't figure her out. Her comb and waddle are pale, she's loosing tail and neck feathers like crazy. She hasn't laid an egg in a few months. I'm praying I don't loose her.

So sorry to hear about this 😢 I have an evil neighbor. She has mental health issues. Actually there’s two. A long time ago she accused my dog of calling children’s services on her. Then my dog suddenly got sick and died. Last year she made a comment about my chickens causing opossums to keep her up at night and a few day later my hens went to bed and all but one didn’t wake up. I believe they were poisoned but I didn’t have proof 😢😢😢

I really appreciate your videos, they have kept me going. Hope this share helps someone be better prepared than I was. I got 5 chickens 2 years ago, fell in love, got a few more and expanded to two 12*30 coops, 2 flock, totalling 27 chickens. I love my lil dinosaurs so much! However, in that time, I have acquired a feed store worth of care products. They have had respiratory, egg bound, sour crop, unknown neuro issues, one fell dead, two that had Marek's symptoms but it never spread, one unknown passing, Coccidosis, poopy butt, scaley leg mites, round worms and now an infestation of mites in one of the coops. Let's not leave out chicken drama. This has been overwhelming because I have made the effort to do all the recommendations for high quality care. Except putting fresh herbs in their litter because I have put money into everything else. My free range 10 acres all year long. Comparably, my neighbors have had one issue of leg mites and theirs do not free range. I don't know why my journey has been so difficult but I'm thankful to have learned all that I have. I really hope it smooths out at some point.

I understand completely I have only four hens two Wyandottes and two polish and they are so funny and have such beautiful personalities I know their idiosyncrasies and language and I try to repeat their sounds and they follow me like puppies and I would be sad if they got ill so I do spend time with them and I play with them and my Jack Russells just love them

I used to let my college roommate free range sometimes. One day he, too, found some mushrooms growing wild, and apparently ate them. He had neurological symptoms, tilting his head, talking to the lawn as if it was alive, and later showed a lot of stomach distress. I added a apple cider vinegar to his drinker and gave him some scrambled eggs with grapeseed oil, oregano and calcium supplements. He finally recovered and went back to drinking beer.

OMG! I’ve had dogs for 50+ years and chickens for the past 8 years and I am super paranoid about mushrooms. A friend lost her dog to death angel mushroom poisoning after a hike in the Smoky mountains. So sorry for your loss.

I caught my evil neighbor spraying round up in my backyard, his excuse was the weeds in my yard were growing on his side. Right after that 3 of my chickens die. And since that sad episode of my life I never allowed my chickens free range. They do have an extra large run.

Yes something crazy happened this summer! I fractured my foot and my husband was taking care of the flock, well, last week my son and I go out, (I can walk again) and my son said: Mom, how many birds we have? And I’m like 8, and he is like, there is only 5! We were crazy looking everywhere, so worried, my son is like, maybe someone stole them; I said, with our two German shepherds and the two Winnie dogs, I don’t thinks so; well ir results that my husband saw they had diarrhea, and the next day they were dead, and he disposed from them, because he wanted to spare us the pain, what?? we were going to find out, and we could have find resources to help them! My health is not well all around and he had a good intention..but what was he thinking! I’m so sad, I better start trying new things. Thank you for all your teachings.

I am dealing with one of my sapphire gems ate a small piece of metal. She is dealing with neurological issues and can’t walk right now. I am able to take her to the vet and she is going through chelation therapy after seeing a small piece of metal near her gizzard. It’s been hard but I want to try to get her better. Thank you for sharing!

Very interesting! Thank you! 😊 I take Redman’s vitamins daily so it makes sense they have it for livestock too. I have a routine of taking the ash from the fireplace or fire pit out (cooled) and pouring it in various muddy spots around the property, which I find my chickens enjoying as a dust bath. The ash soaks up the moisture helping to rebuild the soil for a drier patch of land, which is important since my ducks love that we live so close to a naturally flowing brook/pond. They take every opportunity to enjoy puddles, but the chickens aren’t impressed. The vet said the ash is why my chickens are so healthy. 😊

I only have a small flock of 21 but I am the same, taking in rescue cockerels. Recently took in one and turns out he has introduced Mycoplasma into my yard. I lost a good few before working out why they kept going. Currently have a 4 year old cockerel that can't walk and is having problems with breathing although he is eating well. Now treating again with Tylan as it's most likely linked to the Myco. I'm in the UK and there is not a lot of homeopathic stuff on the market and only a handful of vets that will see chickens. I do the best I can as I know any keepers do and just hoping he survives.

Thank you for sharing all your struggles. I just started raising chickens this year with a flock of six babies. By the time they were 6 months I had lost three, all roosters, to different ailments. I still don't know all that was wrong but one seemed to be respiratory and died within a day or two, one was an infected eye that went bad even after antibiotics, and one is a real mystery. The last one that passed away had lethargy bad poo and lack of appetite. I tried to treat with some ACV but probably didn't do it right, and a vet kept him in the hospital a few days. He seemed to get better but then took a turn and ended up passing away quietly at home. I went through real despair and depression with the last one, especially after the first two had just died. Now I have the three hens left and they seem to be healthy and happy so I count my blessings. It's all still very new to me but we love these sweet creatures.

I have actually had 3 chickens just mysteriously die on me in the last few months as well as two dogs who had a gastric reaction emergency where one died unfortunately. We strongly suspect mushrooms as we live in a very humid climate in the swamps of Louisiana. I have found various mushrooms in the yard. We dont use pesticides or poisons of any kind and we are extremely particular about fertilizer; which since we now have chickens, we make our own fertilizer! I do remember seeing a few types of white mushroom but i cant recall the appearance. This video was super informative and we use redmond salt in our kitchen but i was unaware of the other products so SHOUT OUT TO CHICKENLANDIA for the Redmond company because she just got you a new order lol!!!

Thank you for sharing. 4 months ago I lost several chickens 🐓, it felt like each week I was loosing a chicken. It devastated me, to the point I was going to give up. I am still on the fence about getting anymore chickens. The loss is just to hard.

All is well…at this moment. Had the neighbors fence come down on the back of the run, we fixed it with a couple of screws. Getting 1 egg a day from our bantam EE. Thank you for sharing. Will definitely give sponsor a try.

I was so scared when you say Charlie was sick! I so glad she is doing much better!!!! Also..... Active Charcoal does the same thing at least of my dogs and myself so I would think it does for Chickens too, but it does make your poop black or green so don't freak out.

I’m a first time chicken owner. Got 4 chickens two months ago. All young 3-5 months old now. Just lost two to Mareks. I was so close to them already. It was really hard. 😢 had to have both chickens euthanized. I live near UCD labs in California and they euthanized and tested both chickens for me. And they were positive for Mareks.

Thank you for sharing this! I free range my chickens, and we have TONS of the destroying angel mushrooms growing in our septic field, which is mere feet from the chicken run. The chickens regularly spend time there, but fortunately, so far, they have shown very little interest in any of the wild mushrooms we have on our property.

I had a young chicken with Marek's disease and the poor thing could no longer stand up but just would flop on the ground and I found out that colloidal silver cures it So I put her in a cage and everyday twice a day i gave her and the other chickens colloidal silver strait in their mouths with a syringe along with feeding them some garlic and other stuff mixed with coconut oil etc mixed in her food with other stuff and after a few days she started slowly getting up and each day she got stronger and not long after that she was fully healed with the other chickens.

Oh my goodness, we are neighbors... I have 20 chickens near Alger and there have been so many mushrooms this year. Haven't had any issues, but I will know what to look for if we do, thank you!!

My chickens are missing their feathers on their backs and butts? I have them in a very large run. They have plenty of space in the coop. It started with one, and now 4 out of seven have the same problem. I use Saturday lime. I spray them with a natural parasite spray. I give the cayenne pepper and garlic periodically for internal parasites. They free range in the run. They have high protein scratch and regular pellets, and black soldier fly larvae every day. I also cleaned out the coop where they sleep and replaced the bedding and added more sturday lime. I do the deep litter method. I am at a loss.

We have 3 dogs 28 chickens plus 2 senior horses that I occasionally bring in the yard to mow/fertilize before the chickens the I clean things up lol. As I'm somewhat paraniod about toxic plants I pull mushrooms etc up when I walk around inspecting the yards. It's awesome to find out bentonite clay is another natural way to help our critters be as healthy as we can without completely breaking the bank.

We had a scare with our dog a few months ago. She started shaking and drooling and having a hard time standing for no good reason. She’s a 2 yr old Aussie that is always active. Took her to ER vet and they couldn’t find a problem but thought it was a fungus poisoning. Very possible since we had a wet period and there were mushrooms of all types in the yard… not that we knew she ate any. She might have ingested it while picking up a frisbee. They gave her fluids and she stayed the night at the vet. She made it through…praise the Lord. Very scary.

Recently, we had one of our favorite chickens die. The night before she was looking a little bit pale, and may be a little off. Then in the morning we found her dead in the coop. It was such a shock and heartbreak. We were so worried about the other chickens, but They seemed to do well and nothing else happened. We still are not sure what happened to her.

Omg this happ to us! My turkey, Liberty, was off balance and seemed neurological. She kept walking like she was drunk and would fall on her butt sometimes and shake her head. . For days it was like this. And I searched the area and found a white mushroom. They are in a smaller yard and I wondered but didn’t do tht test your friend told you about. I basically got rid of any mushrooms I saw. She is way better. I gv her her space and she as okay. I mean I was so worried but she is back to normal!

Oh My Goodness D, the stress of this must have been so awful. Outstanding that you had this product and the homeopathy knowledge to help them. Strangely enough, I just had three gigantic mushrooms that sprouted up overnight in my chicken run last week. I let my girls out in the morning, and didn't notice the mushrooms. I saw them later that day with a bunch of pecking holes in them. OH MY did I get all stressed and scared that my whole flock would get sick. Amazingly enough they are all fine. I do not know what type of mushroom they were, but I am sooo grateful they are ok. Keeping my peepers peeled for any other fungi lurking about. Stay safe out there.

My checks are only about 10 months old and I knew the chickens and I love your videos You really help me out. I've got the deep litter method in my coop I put down a clay/coop refreshener. You are so lucky to have a vet to treat your chickens. I'm sorry you lost two of your feathered friends.The vets in my area won't treat chickens so I've had to be the one to figure out how to nurse a sick chicken. I've used the Boiron products on my cats and it's good to know they can be used on chickens too. I'll have to work on a first aid kit to have on hand in emergencies.

We have been experienced 3 hen losses in the last 2 weeks. They seem to happen at night. We don't have coyotes or possums. We do get hawks, but odd that our dog was not able to fight it off or detect it since she patrols. Im just venting out of sadness. 😢

all of my girls are ex commercial, and in the UK all commercial hens are vaxed against Marek's, but it still frightens me. It's why I won't take non commercial rescues - they will be vulnerable to some of the things my girls can be fine with

I also use homeopathic remedies, since living over 30 years in Germany and I had a homeopathic dr. I have a chicken that has been sneezing and looking very weak.I've separated her indoors now and give her Sambucol black elderberry (otc at Walmart) disolved in some water. I use these also throughout the winter. Works very good!

Thanks for this informative video. I enjoy learning from you. I purchased your book and I love it. I'm a few years into raising chickens and definitely still a novice. A silky breeder I buy from called 4 months ago and asked if I would take a sick young Seabright chicken home and see if I could help him/her. The chicken was repeatedly fainting in the heat we were experiencing in Tucson, AZ. I'm retired so have more time than she plus I have a place to isolate chickens indoors when necessary. He/she is still alive and isolated in a large bathroom area. She doesn't faint anymore but has developed scabs on her comb and wattle that crust up and fall off. She/he had a 'leader' which is a red extension on her comb which turned black and fell off last month. So most likely the chicken was meant to be a rooster. He makes adorable squawk sounds to say hello but does not crow or show any rooster behavior. He is a very sweet chicken and loves to sit in hubby's lap while he watches TV. I researched (a vet is not in our budget) and I believe he has Fowl Pox. I have been treating the scabs with VetRx and it seems to help the sores heal faster and scab and fall off. He has a very good appetite and eats a whole bowl of mixed corn/carrots/beans/peas mixed with fresh cooked crumbled hamburger plus a organic chicken mash. He makes hick up sounds and sneezes occasionally but has bright eyes. I am stymied on how to help him recover. He watches chicken TV on a small touchpad most days so he knows what other chickens look and sound like. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thank you!

Yea them mushrooms that leaves a cup in the ground when picked and also leave a lite ring of tissue on the stem from when the cap opened up are called Death Caps and are supposed to be the only ones in Kansas that will KILL YOU IF YOU EAT THEM , I've seen them growing in small towns and on your video 😮 ❤

I’ve lost 3 Crested Cream Legbar hens in 6 weeks, 2 weeks apart. Suddenly fluffed up, brought them in, Tylan, garlic, oregano and ginger. Nothing worked. I found another one 3 weeks after the last one died and brought her in. Changed from Tylan to Doxycycline plus all of the other natural antibacterials. Nothing changed for 2 days and then 3rd day she ate a little scrambled egg. Fourth day perky and happy but now has fowl pox. Most of my chickens have fowl pox and we’ve been in a drought here in Texas and I haven’t seen any mosquitos but there has been a bumper crop of flies. One of my rooster’s eyes is almost shut so Terramycin ointment on it. I didn’t have any of these issues last year but we didn’t have the fly invasion either. There has to be some connection even though I know fowl pox is carried by mosquitos.

So I don't usually comment,but I saw this video and it instantly piqued my interest. Last month I lost my dear rooster, Mel. He was ill and died within 24hours and I was (am still) devastated! Thank goodness none of his sisters became ill but part of what has been so disturbing is not knowing what killed him. I do have some mushrooms in my chicken yard and now I believe he may have gotten a nibble of one. I'm grateful for your channel and your fountain of knowledge. My chickens (and myself) thank you from the bottom of our fluffy butts!❤ I do have concerns with bentonite, as it is used as a clumping agent in kitty litter and my husband uses it to fill holes in our irrigation canals. Could it cause impaction or other digestive/crop issues?

Wow. What an odd thing to have happen. I am so sorry you lost 2 chickens, but who would have thought destroying angel mushrooms would just pop up in a chicken run? We get mushrooms pop up all over our yard and I always remove them. Luckily, I have never found any in my chicken run. I am so glad you figured out the cause before more chickens got into them. This is a cautionary tale to keep an eye on what is growing where your chickens can get into it.

When i had chickens that I wasnt sure what was going on with them and brought some in later for necropsies, i found out that over 90% of backyard flocks have Marek's and juat dont know it. It often goes by with no visual symptoms.

My guess is that the bentonite clay binds to the toxins and helps to move them out of their system. I love Redmond Real Salt. I don’t currently have chickens but I have in the past and loved them. ❤

Love your channel. I fully relate to the love for your chickens. I feel the same about mine (I have around 50) and strive to give them the best life I can. I am surprised the chickens ate fungi. Mine hate any fungi and always avoid them (we have so many varietys in the UK) or least, they have so far. I will keep an open mind if any of my girls get poorly without explanation. One tip I've found: Charcoal is great for ingested toxins. Animals will seek it out. Or you can mix some powder into water and give it in a little syringe. I've saved many a life with it.

Great sharing!💜I strongly believe that the cause is an insect, and not a mushroom. Are there any insects that you are seeing this year, that u haven't seen in previous years? Have you planted ANY new plants or trees earlier in this year or last year? For now, just observe ... That is really all that u can do for now.❤

I love that you use homeopathy! I've only learned more about it in the past year and I'm SOLD on it for my family and my animals! Once you learn some basics you are equipped to deal with so many things that may come up. Having some basic knowledge and a small kit can literally be a lifesaver. There are classes out there that are digital and quite accessible now--especially practical homeopathy (as opposed to classical). Since it's such a diluted material to begin with, there is no harm and you dose animals the same as people. I also love the Redmond products, but haven't used that.

Destroying Angel mushrooms are terrifying. We have a couple that popped up in our winecap mushroom bed. They don't look alike, it's easy to spot them, but I'm still super paranoid. So sorry about your chickens, but glad you caught the problem.

Diatomaceous Earth is a regular part of my home chicken mix. It's abundant, it's cheap, and a little goes a long way. It (as well as bentonite clay) is also safe for humans, and many people take it as part of a liver cleanse.

I think I found you by happy accident. I have a chick that has a mysterious foot condition. Its like scabby sores on top of her toes and in between. At first it looked like a few pecks, she also had her eyes seal shut after hatch. I isolated her, I watched and she got holes in her skin with redness, then the prolific scabs spread. I can't find any info. I've washed her feet. I finally coated her feet with cold pressed castor oil and now she can stand again, eating and drinking much better & the pain gone and I am hoping it heals fast. I love your info on Redmond and homeopathics. I love your diligence.

Omg! I love ur channel. I have only been a chicken mom for a year. Last summer one of my girls got super sick all of a sudden. Took her to the vet but they didn’t know what was wrong. She was vomiting and couldn’t walk, wouldn’t eat or drink. I brought her inside and nursed her for several days and she survived! I am certain after watching this video that she was poisoned by this mushroom! They grow in my yard every year! Any ideas how to get rid of them other than just digging them up when u see them? I love to let my girls free range. Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so much from them!
