Been watching this channel for over 2 years and I have to say I love how your farm does as much as you can yourself instead of farming out the work to contractors! Love it! Keep up the hard work!

Now that is a set of spray booms, you will be able to cover a few more acres during a day of spraying. Gotta say you guys do most all the work on machinery yourselves which I admire you for that.

Nick and Scott, When you are working on booms and stuff down low, follow your dads example and use a mechanics seat instead of working on your knees. Trust me, when you get to be your dads age, you will thank yourself !! I wish you a wonderful and productive growing season and harvest.

A Corvette will only depreciate once it is purchased. I am very interested to watch this system work and what savings ($$ and chemical) you will experience using the system. The boom should be given the name, “Waste Not, Want Not” if it works as intended.

That’s just how those rear tires wear. Our sprayer truck was the same way. One blew one day in the shed. Thankfully not on the road.

Nick, you should know about drifting when you're spraying!😮

When swapping or repairing tires, use mineral spirits as a lube on the bead! It will dry in 24 hours but it makes the rubber really slippery when wet.

When I was a custom applicator, I built and modified booms and spray systems. If you do not have a "floating boom" I can offer you an easy mod that will dramatically improve the life of your new boom. Off the shelf parts! Also, and easy mod for your break-aways.

And get the spindle rebuild kit on the shelf Now before you can't get it in. Always have things like brake shoes and drums Before you need them. 11:52

I continue to pray for you and the Welker farm. To be established that long is impressive to me, that doesn’t happen often. I own (unfortunately do not farm yet) my original family farm that was certified by the state of MN as a Century Farm. Its a mere 400 acres, but have many memories. We grew a lot of wheat, for straw bedding in late summer. Plant 23!!!

Awesome! Thanks for posting. If you were to rotate the tires you'd get a longer life out of the tires. The wear would be more even..

BIG BRUTE appears to be only 2 wheel drive. If that is indeed the case, the front tires should be mounted with the chevrons facing backward for better steerability.

Make sure that the toe measurement is good. If the tires are toed out it will also cause the same wear!

Could you rotate the tires from side to side to get more life out of them? The inside wear would then be on the outside on each side.

And those tires still wear out faster than those BKT tires. We run them on one of our floaters at work. We are lucky to get a season out of them.

I was just telling my husband (who I got hooked on Welkers, FastAg & a few others) how the Welkers (& Tony Fast) fix & build everything. It’s amazing! I’m thinking a lot of that is out of sheer necessity too. Both farms seem to be pretty isolated, relying on shops to do all the mechanics would put you out of business.

Life of a farmer is one step forwards and three back. I really don't think paint is a big issue for the tractor... just make money happen is the best one can hope for. Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Step by step you are getting the sprayer tractor all setup. The new tires look great on it. Sure is a different trend design. Should work good for you. The booms are coming along ok. Step by step you are getting them adjusted and setup. Looks like it will take a while yet. Lots of adjustments there it seems. Hang in there. Sounds like your seeding is just around the corner. Spring seeding time is here-yeah!!!!!!! Time to go go go. Let’s get the seed a going. Going back to the king pins on the spray tractor. Would take a lot to bend them I would think. I would get the repair kit and see how it goes with the new tires. Then you have them on the shelve if you need them. Those new booms are huge huge in length/wow. Be nice when done. What do you do with the old big tires. Any core return value in them???????? Oh nice to have for a spare or a super big sand pile.
