John Deere 7720 Titan II
The John Deere 7720 Titan II comes standard with a turbocharged diesel engine with six cylinders and Posi-Torq belt drive. The standard horsepower is 145 at 2,200 RPM, but the engine can be upgraded to 165 horsepower with the optional hydrostatic ground drive. The total engine displacement is 466 cubic inches. The transmission has four speeds. The cylinder type is a Rasp bar, and the diameter of each cylinder is 22 inches, while the cylinder width is 55 inches. The cylinder speed range is 350 to 1,240 RPM, and the cylinder drive is dual range. The two-cylinder drive range allows for 620 to 1,240 RPM in direct drive high, and 350 to 700 RPM in the low-drive gear.

Had a 7720 Turbo ..... then I thought I needed to step up to a 9500 to get away from the motor being right beside me ..... I would take the 7720 back in half a heartbeat!

Hello. I enjoyed watching your video alot. What a very nice Combine and tractor that farmer has. Look at the nice paint on the Combine and tractor. That farmer sure takes care of his Combine and tractor. Me and my second brother we have a Sp John Deere Combine 7720 titan 2. It is a 1987 year model. We like our Combine alot. We harvests 480 acres of Barley with it this year. I live on a farm by Reward Saskatchewan Canada.

Not sure anyone can relate to this story, but back when their were local elevators, I had one that would drop off trailers, they sat the jacks on concrete slabs. I’d get back from a trip flying, and jump right in my 4440, which pulled a 7721 towed combine, and fill those trailers up before the dew got too bad. By the time I could run again the next day, those trailers would be gone, and empty ones were waiting to be filled. Their were people who specifically catered to guys like I was those 1st few years of farming. As far as that Titan II goes, even if she only had a couple hundred hours put on her every year, just the beating of the grain on the sheet metal must have pretty much worn it down paper thin. Or, it sat in the weeds for awhile and was restored. Material science is what it is, they all have an expiration date.
