15:30 Those girls alongside Lilia were Vierra and Shierra. They were teleported into a bandit camp during TP1 and were captives and toys for the bandits for months before Paul saved them. They're the only ones of the original Fittoa Region Search and Rescue Squad that remained with Paul after their funding for the operation dried up, the Asuran throne and the Boreas family under James losing interest. They've followed him from basically the beginning of his quest, and now their savior is dead. Shierra in particular took it hard. After what'd been done to her, Paul was the only man whose presence she could tolerate.

It wasn't very clear in the anime but Rudy didn't space out. The Hydra was moving around and confused his eye and he also lacks the reflexes and speed that Paul or Ellinalise has. What's even more heartbreaking is that there was a CD drama where it showcases Paul's inner monologue before his death and it's cannon since the author wrote the scripts for that CD drama.

Thanks for this clarifcation because I genuinely thought he spaced out mid battle? I was actually screaming out loud when I saw him freeze up after Paul saved him the first time.

4:58 Rudeus is not capable to do incantationless healing magic, from what I've heard it's because he can't picture how healing works or something.

Man this episode is just... Bruh Like... - Rudeus lost a limb. - Paul died believing he was a bad father - Paul also did all this, pooled so many resources and effort, just to rescue a vegtable - Healing magic heals the body BUT NOT the mind. So they're literally gonna be forced to take care of a constant reminder of their failure - Technically, Rudeus lost both his parents. - Rudeus caused his father's death, both by disobeying the mangod and by slipping mid-battle - Rudeus is already very mentally weak and breaks easily. So imagine this situation man... - Also, when you think about it, he lost 4 parents now. Goddamn.

Check out the drama CD. the hydra fight is from Paul's POV. He dies being glad his son is alive.

Bro I can't.... I really loved Rudy's parents... they weren't just an afterthought here, like in most anime. They were fully fleshed out characters I got attached to and it HURTS to lose Paul so much, I really liked him a lot... Argh, I'll never live this down... It hurts :( Awesome reaction!
