We visit the under threat of closure 10 1/4" Gauge Wells Harbour Railway in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. We start at Norwich Station where we have a look at the interior of a Greater Anglia Stadler Flirt Class 755. On the way up to Sheringham we pass the 15" Gauge Bure Valley Railway where we see No. 5 Blickling Hall in steam. At Sheringham we catch a bus outside the North Norfolk Railway Station to Wells-next-the Sea.
At Wells-next-the-Sea we walk down to the harbour for a trip on the Wells Harbour Railway behind Alan Keef No. 95 The Duke. We discuss the possible closure and replacement of the railway during the course of the video.

This railway is not to be confused with the Wells & Walsingham Railway which is also 10 1/4" gauge and situated in Wells-next-the-Sea. That's a video for another day.

Lovely video - shame the railway might close. I’ve been to Wells several times, and never knew it was there! The Wells & Walsingham is well worth a visit too... but preferably when the sun is shining!

Hi Henry!! Love this video!! The Replacement service is a bus service! It’s got two buses, one open top one and one small electric one!

Nice video Henry, shame that the line could close down and yes amazing you can walk through a deisel carriage on the Class 755. Shame you got drenched on that day, hope you had a good weekend.

Little train at Wells closing, Holkham Estate unwilling to renew lease, they claim train not suitable for today's visitors, my kids loved the train.

How they can say that is beyond me! This little railway has been enjoyed by children and adults for many years and will be very much missed if it closed!

Thank you! Have a great time, I believe you'll be doing the Wells & Walsingham Railway. It have done the odd video on a disused railway, I did one on the Markeaton Park Railway in Derby a couple of years ago.

To be honest I would prefer the reinstatement of the old standard gauge Railway from(was it?) Dereham......

Dereham in one direction, Hunstanton in the other. This railway wasn't built of the trackbed of them, the Wells & Walsingham Railway is built on the trackbed of the line to Dereham.

Yes, you're right. I've seen this happen at a couple of other miniature/narrow gauge railways!

@@HenrysAdventures But cheaper. The operator won't need to pay to maintain the road. Ratepayers will pay for that. Closure will also provide more land for car parks too. Not the way we should be going!

The Holkham Estate is all about making money and don't consider what people want. Sure this will be replaced with something cheaper to run and carry more passengers = more money. The Estate have ruined the town and its such a shame when this goes.

Railway has now gone :( Rails ripped up and everything sold to a railway in Cornwall. What a shame

Very sad! Its was not only a nice railway to ride on but it did the job of transporting passengers from the town to the beech.

@@HenrysAdventures very sad. As you say it served a great purpose. The locals have been up in arms at its removal. Away the road train that will no doubt replace it

@@mayedd I certainly wouldn't travel to Wells to ride a road train! I'll go to Wells again to do the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway as I've still not yet done that one. Any idea which railway in Cornwell its all been sold to?
