@@taxsaversteve Her skating skills are definitely still in the top 3 best in the world. Kamila flies, but Aliona floats and it's an entirely different feeling to watch. The first thing my lifelong hockey playing and coaching dad said when he saw her (in her most recent comp) was 'Wow, that girl can skate". Aliona also still uses better edge work than Kami, even if it isn't AS good as before.

For hours...very possible. I like to watch these performances at 1/2 normal speed. Time flies when I do that. Sometimes the beauty and brilliance at normal speed is too fast for my eyes to fully appreciate.

Definitely agree with you! Aliona is my favourite. Wish we could see her skating at that level if brilliance again.

Plus, guys, remember Alena achieved her record at grand prix final, which was held in japan (if i remember correctly) and Kamila in Russia. I don't wanna start conflicts with anyone, but I think we all know that russians like to give their sportsmen a bit bigger scores in general. But I do agree that both girls were phenomenal.

Kamila is the only skater who manages to pull off an Illusion Spin without it looking like a wonky camel lol. It actually makes me mad, because if one person can do it well, I can't argue that it should be stuffed in the back of the figure skating closet never to be found again.

Actually Kamila jumps higher and further than Aliona by a good percentage on top of Kamila does quads, even Trusova doesn't get near Kamila in jumps height and length. But everyone has their own personal preference. :)

Rippon is actually harder (demonstrates better back strength). The reason Kosto can’t jump quads is because her elbows stick out and she doesn’t have a neat posture during the flight of her jumps (her feet aren’t as tight and her back is not as strong). She gets a lot of momentum in height because she’s using proper toe pick take-off, but can’t last as long in the air because of that poor position. But she does have amazing skating skills to make up for it. She’s a lot more like a Japanese skater than a Russian skater and it makes her stand out :) I always thought that Russian coaching is her main issue since she’s so different to what Russians expect in a skater. I think a non-Russian coach would help her a lot. Kami on the other hand has the very Russian technique on flip and lutz jumps where it looks like she’s trying to break her ankle. It results in these jumps gaining less height. But because of her tight jumping posture (and low weight), she’s able to do effortless quads on edge jumps (if she were to try a quad lutz or a flip, she’d probably get injured tho). Both are fast skaters, have good ice coverage and have difficult skating skills, Kosto has a more Japanese flow where it all seems so even and effortless and Kami has taken the Russian approach where it’s more chopped up but more physically demanding components. And yeah, I agree that Alena’s program was better because we were seeing it for the first time. Kami’s program is a recycled version of that

@@ThePenkiteTV Yes, all skaters have their flaws. As people who attended IDF in person, they said Aliona has so much height but she spins slowly in the air for those triples. If she spun faster she could get an extra rotation and get a quad according to those that watched her. Rippons are harder yeah, but it's always something I noticed as I watched Valieva in juniors, when she didn't have a Rippon in her quads, she had very nasty axis problems and fell hard.

@@thekat3086 It might’ve helped her work on her jumping posture in the beginning, but doing a 3A rippon is still something that only she can do (and it looks very effortless). Whatever the issue was, I’m glad she managed to fix it. It’s probably the best 3A in the world right now (given Yuzu is injured). Her salchow is also flawless, loop is good, and the other jumps are pretty flawed (at least with proper edge takeoffs which nobody else is currently doing besides Liza), but she’s still very exciting to watch. Her technical content is insane and the way she manages to deliver it is, too. Kosto is special for different reasons and she’s a joy to watch, but I think the record was rightfully earned as Valieva did deliver a more difficult program overall.

Потому что Алёна устанавливала рекорд на международном турнире, а Ками у себя дома, все знают, что дома дают больше. Алёна дома получала почти 90 за короткую на ЧР 2020.

Prerotation is unlimited. Want you or not. And UNDERrotation is a big mistake. Alena has some troubles with underrotations on 3A

Kami has amazing spins and her PCS was overscored. Especially interpretation of music - she can’t properly fit with the music unlike Alena. Though I think she deserves this new record, her PCS should be lower.

Kamila uses the rippon as a crutch to correct for bad technique. Unclear if she could jump as well without it

Контент Камилы дороже. Такой только каскадом с риттбергером и старшим зубцовым во второй половине можно перебить

Болеро - это программа на олимпийский сезон. Здесь не нужно никого цеплять. Нужно просто выиграть. А цеплять можно и на показательных выступлениях.

Valieva has nothing of a ballerina. Her hips are quite low when she pic toe the jumps and when she rotates also. Thats why kostornaya is not able to do quads. Shes always in position even in the air. Her diafragma is always expanded, oposite to valieva. Otherwise it will be imposible to rotate as fast as valieva does, as her legs wont be as tightened because of the left hip raised. Yes, unfortunately, good posture impossibilitates higher revolutions...

Valieva is graceful in a way that reminds me of young ballet students: the desire is there, but not the feel for it. The break at the wrist would have been corrected, in a rigorous ballet environment. Kostornaia carries her energy all the way through her palm and extends through the fingers. Valieva is good, but overall Kostornaia's carriage is more refined.

this is just because they do have the same choreographer! most of the difference comes from concept/music/outfit choices especially for a short. you want a skater to have the highest score possible which leads to similar elements in programs, but you want it to also fit the structure of the piece of music which is usually the same or similar to each other so it’s kind of inevitable for this to happen

@@millminn it`s because there's not very much opportunity to gain maximum base-score - that's why the patterns are similar. They both have the most risky element (3A) at the start, when legs are less tired. Also they have the most valuable jumping element (3-3 combination) at the begining of the second part of the program to get a bonus for it. it's rather obvious. if you take any lyrical program from any other (non Crystal) skater who is capable of performing a 3-3 in the second half - you'll see the same similarities. on the other hand, the choreography of these two programs differs a lot.

У Тутберидзе девочки "одноразовые". Она очень быстро прощается со своими чемпионками. Хотя я очень надеюсь, что девочки будут ещё лет 5 в ФК. Тем более Камиле всего 15. А до 25 лет можно смело накатывать

@@fandomTarantinoandCo Что значит, одноразовые? Да, девочки выигрывают ОИ в 15 лет. В 20 лет они уже физически выигрывать не смогут, ибо есть другие 15-летние. Кто-то идет учиться, кто-то детей рожает, кто-то деньги зарабатывает. Катание ради катания до 25 лет не всем нужно.

10 at this age? - even Jason Brown didn’t get 10 and he has beautiful artistic skating style. I love Kami’s artistry but just imagine what she could do once she’s adult.

Still would have made the world record even without the PCS advantage (even though by a smaller margin). 3A rippon is an upgrade from the basic 3A.. Valieva looks like an effortless feather in the air, it’s so mesmerising. This is my favourite Kostornaia skate ever and I love it, but Valieva is just on a different level than any skater ever seen in the past. Plus Valieva is the only Tut girl to have correct take-off edges and is judged more fairly in GOE than the others. Also, she skates faster. So the record was fair

in a national comp yes, but this was rostelecom cup which is an intern comp with intern judges, only one judge was russian so ur argument doesnt really make sense

@@gialucaturconi8037 It does. Despite being international competition - all events are always overscoring their home skaters. International judges feel compelled to reward local federation who pays them salary for the event and provide food and hotel for free.
