Learn how to wrap text around a circle in Illustrator in a simple and easy way.

I'm curious if there is a "pixel-perfect" way to align the text to the center. Every tutorial I have found so far just eyes it, so it isn't totally centered. I guess I'm a perfectionist! Is this currently best practice, even if the text is technically slightly askew?

If you use guides from the rulers, and you snap the start and end pointers to the 90 degree or 180 degree angles around the circle, then use align center/left/right etc you should get close. I'm not aware of a way to get the points pixel perfect beyond the anchor points of a circle, but they may be one out there. If you find it, please let me know, we're all learning new things in this software every day!

Hi Kwaku. Could you expand? Do you mean the text is a flat vector object placed into the artboard, or is a piece of text that has been typed on a standard horizontal path, and not yet on the curved path?

So I had a regular text layer horizontal and then I created the circle. Is there way to wrap text that is already straight? I just thought about it and I could easily copy and paste the messages but is there another way to do that? Take horizontal text and make it circular?

I also have one more question. I had text that was written on a circular path, and for some reason, I cannot make it into a rainbow gradient.

You could use the type warp options (top bar), but you'll really struggle to get the path a perfect circle, plus it will distort the text, so I would simply copy the text and paste it onto the circular path for best results.

Unfortunately I'm not sure about the rainbow path, it's difficult for me to know the problem without seeing it. Potentially a glitch, maybe cancel and try the technique again.
