Nice review. The variable pulley system is the same as my 38 year old Shop Smith and it has never failed. The odd sound from the motor when turned off is a motor break , which is very nice. keep up the good work.

i was surprised to see your reaction to being made in Taiwan not that i put Wen in this class but today almost all the better made shop Equipment are built there including ShopFox, Grizzly and even Delta machinery Taiwan has the ability and knowledge of building good things it’s kind of up to the Individual Companies having their machinery built there to pay for the level of quality and standards they want to pay for which of course is reflected inthe overall Retail price we need to,pay for the items the majority of all the factories are owned by the bigger Tool and Retail Stores that distribute and sell the brands Home Depot and Lowe’s are 2 of the big players of course but often their names are disguised like they do in the Food and Pharmeceuitical businesses

Its under 100 bucks. If i had this i would LOVE it!!! Probably not a hand me down but it will get the job done.

I'm adding wood under the top plate to the table top. Then attaching it to the work bench, providing more strength to the flimsy base.

Good presentation, thanks. I'll take a closer look at this bench unit. The variable speed does indeed work just like a CVT in today's smaller vehicles, i.e., my Subaru Outback!

You cannot judge the chuck's concentricity by placing anything on the body of the chuck, including a test indicator. It's doesn't mean anything to total runout. They do not bother with ensuring concentricity in areas that don't matter.

Well I finally got a response from WEN customer service. it only took 10 days and i had talked with customer service a few times already about the low power. They replaced the motor awhile ago and the problem persists. they emailed me several things to try like speed up the forstner bit to 1300rpm, it touches the wood and stops. and i sent them a video of what's going on and
