Is that plastic over metal for the handle? Or did I miss that?

Yes. It is not a plastic handle. Plastic over metal.

You have play in your sockets because you’re not supposed to line the hole in the socket with the ball on the 3/8 drive, sounds crazy but if you look inside the sockets themselves you’ll see the indent on the other 3 faces for the ball to sit inside. Hope this helps every 👍🏻

Great video, interesting set with the impact rated sockets. I like the idea of a comfort ratchet.
@adamhindle9215

As you have said on a previous vid, the hole in the socket should not be aligned with the ball-bearing on the ratchet head. If you do that, you get excessive play. Rotate 90 degrees and it's a much tighter fit.

Although I’d love to have it, I dont see it being any better than my Autozone Duralast Blue composite ratchet.

Great video as per usual, I've never seen this new Zyklop ratchet before which is why we love Bzeug! On a seperate note, I can't believe sitting on my coffee table in front of me is Vessel's NEW 900ALWC bit driver handle! Its a 900 series (so its got similar handle to Megadora). Its a new bit retaining mechanism that sadly falls short of both the Centrofix & 810 series Hazets...but its not terrible, has a great BIG non-slip rubber over mould handle and a single tik-tak style pill shaped spring loaded bit retaining bb. If I had an address, I'd have bought one for the channel 😢. I've never had a new Euro or Japanese bit driver in my possession I first didnt see here.

Thank you! Wow I had no idea anyone wanted to send me gifts. I guess I never thought of that. Maybe I'll have to figure out something. I was initially excited about that new 900ALWC when MeuReview posted a review on it and I may aquire one, but right now maybe I'm distracted with Wera new releases.

I've been using mine a bit lately and like it, the bit retention is close to being as good as the Hazet, better than Wera Rapidapter, but Wiha still holds 1st place.

I love Wera but not the ratchets. Over priced and nasty with real sloppy tolerances. I switch over to the KOKEN…. I love the 72tooth Z-SERIES is so TIGHT and my personal fav The 72 Zeal 3/8 in 1/4 body flex head… And always. Keep up the good work man.

Wera is, somehow, a lifestyle product with some innovation. When you ask professionals in Germany they go for Hazet or Gedore (blue).

I had not heard that. I love my VDE ratchet which is why I wanted this new non VDE version. I admit that my use of ratchets is generally not heavy use. I use my Milwaukee Impacts for heavier messy jobs.

That play is huge and is the reason why I use Gearwrench standard ratchets. At least with the rotating head, for zyklop, there was a reason to use it for some things. This one is a pass for me.
@tonyrulez69
@tonyrulez69 3 ай бұрын
He put the socket on so that the hole on the socket lined up with the ball bearing. It results in a much bigger play. Rotating the socket 90 degrees so the ball bearing goes into the detent on the socket, the play wont be that bad.

Look it's a 3/8" drive ratchet, it 'should' be good for daily use up to say 150-180ft lbs and if absolutely necessary go to 200-230ft lbs. But really I'm using 1/2" gear over 150ft lbs. Now these are just my guesses, but most modern ratchets exceed DIN standards. I wouldn't worry about it, even what Wera would claim would be far less than failure point. What's more important is common sense from the user, knowing when to use the correct drive size.

@@aussiehardwood6196 of course, I wasn't trying to go anal on the numbers alone 😅 It was just a curiosity of mine since Hazet states theirs.

I'm sure I'm very stupid, but why would Wera sell impact sockets with a hand tool?
@bzeug
@bzeug 3 ай бұрын
Not at all! That is kind of surprising and odd. I think it was aesthetics, but I don't know. I was glad they did put the Impact Rated sockets in this set because I have all the non-impact Wera sockets I want/need. I think helps add some value to the set too.

@@bzeug I just watched your video I had similar results on my mid range ratchets they all had play. Interestingly my Sidchrome ratchet had 0 play 🤔 that’s a budget ratchet (2014 sidchrome not the Australian made stuff, aparently the Australian made Sidchrome was unbreakable) My high end stuff only had slight play my Snap-on, Stahlwille and KTC all had just slight play. The fit is great on the Wera once you fit the Wera sockets correctly. Nothing to worry about.
