I keep the box tops for all my MGs and maybe for other grades if I like the art. Basically free posters, IMO. I'm considering mounting some of them on my walls with double-sided tape. Just got the MG G3 2.0 and Sniper II and I love the box art.

Though I don't think I will ever get into building older kits (pre-2005 or so) I do find the subject interesting. It seems like Bandai was less risk-averse and more experimental back then with their choice of kits.
