Chris and Wesker are in RE1,Code Veronica and RE5. So no matter which gets remade next, they are winning while Ethan cries in a corner cuddled up to Shre...Mia. But of all the remakes, RE1 2002 is still my favorite RE game and remake. Yeah it's not a "modern" remake, but it improved and expanded on everything the '96 original and barely cut anything out. Even Shinji Mikami stated the RE1 Remake was what he originally envisioned but was held back by the limitations of the PS1. So he more or less got a second chance to redo RE1.

A part of me wishes they could get Roger Craig Smith back again if they don't use Jeff Schnee (though I see no reason why they wouldn't get Jeff). Gonna be honest, with what they did RE4R? I have high expectations with RE5. Even RE6. They fleshed out the story, developed the characters even more, and breathed new life into mechanics and gameplay. I’d expect nothing less if they went forward with RE5. I want it.

RE4 was one of the first of the series I played, and seeing the remake really impressed me with how much they brought even if it was substantially different in some areas. Coming from the OG perspective, I never had the chance to play 2 & 3. The remakes didn’t appeal to the diehard fans of the originals, but for someone getting to experience what it was for what it was, it was a real treat. I didn’t like RE3R much, because you and I know Nemesis was far more in-depth than the remake showed (and from what I’ve heard via countless takes online). Again, don’t have the hardware to hunt down a copy and play it, so what it was worth was what I got, even if I didn’t get to see the original. Hopefully I one day will.
