I suppose what sets Wesker apart from other killers thematically is the fact that unlike the other killers, he's not an unknown at all. He used to be the leader of the Umbrella Corporation. Whereas all the other killers have their stomping grounds, and their scope of influence was limited to their immediate surroundings, Wesker was once a threat to the entire world. I'd imagine he'd be angry to see himself reduced to a plaything for the entity...though he's probably happy to see 'old friends'.
