There are so many great fanvids to this song lately and I wanted to make my own, it can fit so many pairings but I chose my OTP. I know some people are really against "romantic" Weslah/the idea that they loved each other at all....but I disagree! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have been obsessing over this song as of late and to see it edited with these two...break my heart, why don't you... best couple of the B/A universe and I say that as a huge Bangel shipper. These two were a sort of a more mature, grown up version of sort of love with all the hardships grown up relationships carry (esp ones set in their world!). I find it baffling these two didn't have bigger acting careers after this show ended..they were absolutelly brilliant!

I can’t believe I’ve never commented on this video despite the insane amount of times I’ve watched it. I’ve never heard this song the same way again. (Legit used to fangirl hearing it on the radio at my job, I was watching the video in my head and getting teary eyed.)

So happy to hear that! I think this is one of my fav videos I've done of them...i think the tender side tends to be rather underlooked in the fandom.

I really agree with that. Not that there is anything wrong with not seeing the tender side but it's honestly what I love the most. I love the way Wesley brushes Lilah's hair back during sex and the way he holds her. Lilah really did care for Wesley and part of me gets really choked up about it because I don't think either thought they were good enough for the other (which is such a long topic in itself) which is so sad because they were clearly in love. Despite all the messy stuff and I know a lot of people talk about the sex but it was always after the fact where they had this sense of calm and they could just be. I'm really just rambling here and trying not to be a bother, haha. This is just something I've carried with me for so many years and I think you for your videos because they carve out a small piece of my day where I can actually be happy.

No don't worry about rambling, you're saying all the same things I've been saying myself for the past 15 years LOL. It really does disappoint me when people just dismiss WL as being the "sexy" ship, I mean, yes they are indeed sexy and everyone is of course entitled to their own interpretations, but diminishing them as nothing but sex is such a simplistic and quite frankly boring analysis of the material in my opinion! I love what you said about how they had a sense of calm and could just 'be.' That is so true and I've always believed that they were the only people either one could truly just be themselves with. Lilah wasn't lying when she said no one knows Wes better then her. These two are ROMANCE and TRAGEDY and I will forever both celebrate and mourn them haha. I'm so happy my vids mean that much to you, hopefully I can get around to making another WL vid one day soon!

Same. At least a couple of times a day I MUST watch this video 😂 This song is just perfect for them. When it says "I guess I kinda liked the way you numbed all the pain"… 😭❤

@@its_Lilah_here I love using these types of songs to show the tender side, it's a controversial opinion but I definitely think they really did love each other and I always try to get that across in my vids! I'm happy to hear this one is so well received :D

I must have been living under a rock, because this is my first time hearing this song! lol. But it's beautiful, and I think it does fit Wesley and Lilah. There was clearly love there, it was obvious, come on! XD I loved the video; very moving and heartbreaking. The Cordy quote makes me feel things.

LOL! It must depend on who we're subbed to, I feel like every time I go on yt there's a new vid on my subs page to this song! And yesss, it was so obvious to me that there was love between them, but unfortunately a lot of people seem to think ships need to be "happy" or fairytale-like to be 'true love.' Or something. lol.

@@1SnoWhiteQueen1 EVERY TIME there is a new video, I just scrolled through my Notification type subscriptions, which is not even all of my "Recommended for you" or other subscriptions videos, and within the past 6 days, counting this video here, there have been 5 new videos pop up set to it. It's REALLY getting out of control, I bought the song in early January when I fell in love with it because of one or two multi-fandoms but since then EVERYONE has vidded it and I've been making a Google Doc of a list of pairings I don't think I've seen vidded set to it to see if maybe I could make my own take on a multi-fandom set to the song that was... um... unique lol

LMAO I knew it was a popular song but wow that is crazy. It's going to become the new Say Something at this rate xD (I just remember when everyone on yt vidded that song to the point where I got SO sick of it...even tho i myself vidded it twice oop! To this day I still don't think I've seen a song quite so popular with fanvids as THAT song!)

Oh yes Shattered makes me so freakin nostalgic for that reason lol. I somehow never vidded it myself despite loving the song. *Side eyes you for vidding Say Something in this day and age* LMAO I'm kidding xD I really like that song used in uncoventional ways, the first time I used it was a Tollie vid but the second time was a friendship vid for Wesley/Angel. I don't think you can legally call yourself a vidder without at least having PLANS to vid that song. LOL.

OMG you DIDN'T!!! You used THIS song?! I can't do it. NOPE. I just got home from seeing Avengers Endgame, so I am already a trainwreck, and then you went and used this song for a WL video?? I DON'T NEED MORE TEARS RIGHT NOW!!! lol I love this song! I would love to use it too, but it is just so heartbreaking and beautiful, I would fear that I wouldn't do it justice! But YOU my friend...you most definitely did! This video was gorgeous! It's so emotional. I can't believe there are people that don't see the love between these two, just because it isn't conventional, but like that Cordy quote and Wes' holding hands quote, it's not like these characters live conventional lives anyway. Obviously, their relationships will be different too. You gotta read between the lines. I love the way you combined the "loved one" scene with Lilah almost telling Wesley that she loves him but holding back. OUCH. And just the way you showed how they helped heal each other at such a difficult time. It really is perfect for the song! Wow I can't really put the rest of my feelings into words, because they are overflowing right now. I can't cry anymore today, okay! lol but let me leave you with this: you always used to doubt yourself with slow/tearjerker type videos. I hope you know now that you are really brilliant at them. You just prove that over and over! Awesome work, love!

That's why I'm boggled by people saying they 'ship' WL but don't think they should end up together/think it's impossible. Like, does "endgame" to you automatically mean they have a white wedding, move to the suburbs and have 2.5 children? And that's why you can't see WL as endgame lol? Because I can think of so many endgame scenarios for these two, none of which being the above lol. They're two unconventional people living in an unconventional world. Use a little imagination! And they can definitely relate to each other and understand each other in a way no one else could, even other people in their world. Anyway, that's why I constantly use that Cordy quote, it just relates to them SO WELL imo. But yeah sorry for the mini rant xD I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ON THIS SUBJECT. FOR NEARLY 15 YEARS NOW. LOL. I'm so happy you loved the vid! i thought it might be up your alley lol. I actually thought about doing a CA vid to it originally but I felt I had to give WL some love. I think people are losing their sense of nuance nowadays or something. They want their tv shows to be like reality, and while I appreciate that shows should have elements that we can relate to, it would be awfully boring to actual have it be completely like our typical lives. And it definitely doesn't work on a show like this. I always get this way when characters on btvs act like Buffy needs to be with a Riley-eque guy so that she can have some "normal" life. Umm...is that even possible at this point? Further more, is that what she would actually want? Because I just don't see it working. But yeah, it makes me sad to think fans of the show can't comprehend that there are all kinds of happy endings. Even in our real lives, no couple is going to have the same definition of that as another. AS LILAH WOULD POINT OUT, THERE IS NO BLACK AND WHITE!!

lmao I legit watched Finding Carter just for him. And yeah this is my OTP, next to Tollie (apparently i love underappreciated pairings!). I've loved Wes/Lilah since I was around 14 I think. And thanks so much, it's very cool of you to watch this despite not watching the show (I'd imagine parts of this vid were weird/confusing lol)! It means a lot that you liked the vid even without emotional attachment to the subject!

I am trying to finish watching the show finally since I never saw the final few episodes of the show before it got canceled, idk why I just kinda stopped. I'll be vidding it again in my Mother's Day collab this year lol. :)
