I miss Gardy. I'll admit I didn't keep a count, but he seems to have been clearly right in the majority of these cases. And golly, some of these Twins teams were dreadful.

As a lifelong Tiger fan, I always liked Gardy. I was elated when he became the Tigers skipper and was saddened when he retired. He was fantastic at instilling good fundamental play, especially with the young players. But it was his sense of humor that I really loved. Near the end of Gardy's Twins managing career. Danny Valencia was tossed by an umpire for arguing a strike call. And to nobody's surprise, Gardenhire was bounced while sticking up for his young player. The next morning, Gardy called Valencia to is office, whereby he asked the kid to pay his $500 fine to MLB because he was sticking up for Valencia. The kid thought he was serious but the Twins were mired in a losing skid and Gardenhire was just trying to keep the clubhouse loose.

You put a mic on the coach and umps in these situations and TV ratings will go through the roof. Get the bleep button ready, though...

This is proof that umpires throw managers/players out of the game when foul language is NOT involved. Here was shown Gardenhire not swearing at the umpires and he got kicked out. So those of you who say we don't know what was said, you're wrong!

I think that's the reason he lasted into four 90 loss seasons, he was sure entertaining. I'm not sure if those bad seasons were his fault. It doesn't help that the twins are wasting so much on Mauer.

This can't be all of them, there was one in 2008 where I remember they pitched inside to Mauer and it looked like he was about to charge the mound. Warnings were issued and Gardy was tossed.
