I was young when I watched that match, and I thought it was a surprise that the GDR won, having been underdogs on the eve of the match. I remember watching this game on a black'n'white Magnavox TV. Each 'Germany' played against a mirror. Same style, same strategy. Now, having said that, I miss divided Germany... The mistrust, the betrayals, the conspiracies. The gray areas and the undercurrent of Nazism. In both sides there was determination & focus, because there was structure.
