I was there. The atmosphere was electric that night and probably the loudest at the Boleyn that I’d ever experienced. I also went to the final, but that was a damp squib by comparison.

I was in the south bank, I was 13 years old, and I agree, probably the best night I have ever had over West Ham, I am 58 now but still remember it.

To be fair west ham had great support in Brussels from what I've seen looked amazing, obviously out numbered by the Belgians to be expected but still great

@@yippyialeftside8351 it was a ‘home’ game for Anderlecht and we were vastly outnumbered. Apart from the match itself, my abiding memory was of a fairground next to the stadium and West Ham supporters being on the rides. The huge ‘Atomium’ landmark was also adjacent to the stadium.

The greatest game of football for atmosphere ever, mud bath of a pitch, pouring with rain, and then Sir Trev. I was under the West Stand could hardly see a thing, but what a match, then rushed home to see the highlights on ITV with the great Brian Moore. Magic memories..

Trevor has agreed that this was the best game of his career. Certainly the best game for atmosphere I have been to. The whole stadium rocked when the third goal went in.

Cant believe the great Pop Robson kept missing out on cup finals coz he kept being flogged to Sunderland , he could of played in 4 cup finals 75, 76, 80, 81, this time Frankfurt invasion of London in the semifinals gonna be mad

But, West Ham won’t be like Arsenal and sell 15,000 tickets to German fans, like they did with Cologne. The last two Europa League matches at the London Stadium have been complete sell outs to West Ham supporters and Frankfurt will get the barest minimum, trust me. Frankfurt supporters might come over to London but they won’t get anywhere near to the stadium, apart from those with official match tickets. The pubs in the local area will also be full of West Ham, so I guess the Germans will have to drink in the West End and pay tourist prices.
