We could use West View Park now!

From 62 to 68, my local school district had their "Summer Picnic" at West View Park. I still have great memories of those years.

My late sister gave me a soft cover book called "Good bye West View Park Good Bye" y first address was on Mineola Ave just blocks away. I was baptized at St Athanasius Church.

Wow! I heard so much about this place. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to go there. They closed the park back in 1977 when I was 6 years old. My parents were taking me to Kennywood by then. The ending was sooooo sad. 😢

My Family went to this Park starting in the 1960's until it closed . We did not have much money and my Mother would get Park Tickets for shopping at a local Thorofare super market in Coraopolis Pa . We would go to the Park on a Saturday for about three hours and went home . We had seven people in our family , So we did not get treats and we did not ride to many rides either . But it sure was a great time to see and hear so much excitement .
