What's amazing about this scene is how Ashley is affected by the President's charm when he asks if her father's proud. She looks up at him and instantly relaxes. That is a trait in all successful politicians in democracies. They seem to have an uncanny ability to affect people in person. Even, or perhaps especially, their enemies.

@@CorruptedErtai You had to go and make it into something nefarious. And I don't even think it's true. Con artistry is seldom if ever about making someone feel at ease, quite the opposite. "I'm concerned about peeing on your carpet." "Okay... well, now I am too" We miss Leo. We miss Ainsley Hayes for leaving WW for CSI Miami and being replaced with... Matthew Perry? But mostly, we miss Aaron Sorkin's writing on television. Great as he was at the dramatic stuff, there was a certain playfulness he had with these characters on this show. Wonder how he would respond to these times...

I want a West Wing reboot. But have a President who is first generation American (e.g. son or daughter of Taiwanese immigrants for the tension w/ China). Think it would be interesting to continue off of the West Wing (that had a President Santos already), and perhaps they could have someone who models after Barack and another that models after Trump, and the new guy or gal serving as Commander in Chief (that I propose above) has to clean up the historic mess.

In an earlier scene Josh talks with Donna about his favorite teacher and mentions a “Mr. Feig” who taught his high school American History A.P. and Con Law classes. Werner Feig was Aaron Sorkin’s (and my) wonderful history teacher of both courses at Scarsdale High School in NY. I’ve never smiled more than in 2002 when I was watching the original broadcast of this episode and heard Sorkin’s tribute to Mr. Feig.

Do not mind it :) The top comments typically refer to the content of the video, so one should never read them before watching if one is concerned about spoilers. This is especially advisable if they refer to a series or movie which has aired long ago and was followed up by other movies or seasons continuing the storytelling. I see no valid reason for anyone to be angry at you about your comment.

Hard to blame her, while this was obviously the superior show, she was just a "recurring character" whereas she got a starring role on CSI. Pretty huge difference in salary and stability. I read that apparently Sorkin lamented one of the biggest mistakes made on the show was not giving her a starring series regular role, which would've likely kept her.
