Tong Zou Rose’s MVP year he had Noah out half the year and boozer missed a bunch of games and they still won 60+ games, his stats weren’t eye popping but if you watched him he practically was the whole offense, in the playoffs players like Deng and korver really fell off a cliff and he couldn’t beat Miami alone, back then I don’t know anyone who would’ve picked Westbrook over Rose

Russ has outplayed d rose. Also ppl have to put this in consideration, Rose was the #1 pick, highly scouted and advertised heading into the draft/rooke year. @Kagemusha08

That ownership was so petty and toxic. Love was arguably a top 10 player in the league att and they were constantly hasstling him for not being able to drag their dogshit rosters deep in the playoffs. Pretty sure the owner pissed off and alienated Garnett too, who was the sole reason the team wasn't moved to a different city within 10 years of its founding.

@@tpsam no he wouldn't. Rose was only better slasher than Westbrook. Westbrook was better defender, better rebounder, better passer. Westbrook is a bad shooter but Derrick wasn't that good either. There is no way Rose would have better career than Westbrook. That Bulls team overachived in a bad conference and Rose shined as their main guy so he selected as mvp. Only they and Spurs won over 60 games and you know that Spurs, they just shared everything so noone shined that much. If media didn't care about winning like in Westbrook's MVP season, Howard would win that one.

I can't believe Hibbert didn't even get picked. I take him 7th or 8th. In the 2013 playoffs, he started 19 games and put up a 17/10 with 2 blocks a game and outstanding defense for an Indiana team that came one win away from the NBA Finals and YOU DIDN'T EVEN PICK HIM? Unreal.

Yeah....It seemed Bill contradicted himself when he says "I don't think he should've ever gone to Cleveland...." and then he says "But, if Kevin Love is putting up huge stats, I don't know if you're winning..." So, which is it? Good player that puts up great numbers on a bad team, or good player that puts up pretty good numbers on a contender? When Love goes to the Cavs, they go to the Finals four straight times, winning once, and maybe could've won in 2015 had he not gotten hurt. Also, Bill loves Lebron, but I've noticed that he trolls him a little more now that he plays on the Lakers. His Celtics bias is just so blatantly obvious...he does this w/Kobe too....He often says Pau should've been the finals MVP in both 2009 and 2010.

Rose got injured because coach Tom Thibodeau was famous for running his players into the ground by overplaying them, if you think back to 2008 through 2011 drose was way better then Russell, Russell rose because of rose being injured if rose goes on a different team his story would have been different remember he almost beat a heat team that had prime dwade, lebron and bosh, and rose best teammates back then were joakim noah, Ben Gordon, Nate Robinson and Carlos boozer who was on the downturn of his career because of injuries, Russell is a beast but has never accomplished more then Derrick with less talent on his team

And i want to tell something people don't understand, rebound isn't a defensive stat. Westbrook averaged 11 while he is shitting on defense. Doncic averaged 11 in first 20-30 games in this season. Literally if you play over 30 mpg, you can average over 5 rpg. You don't even have to big man. If you are over 7 ft and can't get 10 rpg, you are bad rebounder. As a big Italian fan, I am biased - but I honestly think that Gallinari without injuries could have easily evolved in 25-8-5 kind of guy in a top-5 NBA team in his prime (not the best player of the team maybe, but second best or third best). His first 2-3 injuries really slowed him down. But his mix of ,powerforward frame, all-around offensive game (high level spot-up shooter with the ability to handle the ball and post), defense skills that do not hurt your own team could have helped a lot of teams and easily complement a lot of NBA superstars. Also, NBA fans probably did not see him with the Italian national team, where he often is producing volume scoring, playmaking, defense, and has also moments of leadership and clutch.

You are not that biased, i think he could be similiar too. Maybe not like 25-8-5, more like 22-6-4 but similiar. Last 3-4 year, he became better in defense but in his early years, he was a hole in defense. Maybe he could better defender than he is now if he didn't injured that much.

Also, shout out Bill, who makes a Celtics reference on every pick in this series, but choosing to ignore Kelly Olynyk cross armbreaking Kevin Love in the 2015 playoffs, costing that first Cavs team a true shot at Golden State. I still think GSW would win, but after Love and Kyrie go down, it's not even fair.

Rose, Westbrook, Love. Other PGs were considered second tier with Rose before his injury. Bulls gave the Heat all they could handle. Disagree injuries defeated him. Worked really hard to come back and is now enjoying a Grant Hill-esque second career. What happened to the 'good player bad team' analogy? Wolves best season with Love was 40 wins, and that was a clear outlier.

D Rose first 3 yrs in this league was outstanding. No other Point Guard's wanted to guard him b/c they feared him. It's unfortunate when he hurt his knee during the playoffs. His trainer's should have had him doing Drop Landings training, & other landing exercises from different angles to properly teach him how to land properly during an uncontrolled environment in the game of basketball. Zion needs to learn how land better also being so explosive. I'm happy D Rose resurrected his career & making postive winning contributions to the team. He's a Winner & Hall of Famer to me.

That Toronto front court in 2019 was absolutely brutal. And Valanciunas was already a decent player even then. But when they traded for Gasol to upgrade defensively and could rotate between Gasol, Ibaka, Siakam, OG and Kawhi, how did anyone score against them? Obviously OG wasn't as good as he is now but that's an insane 5some to try to score against. Let alone the fact opponents had to deal with Lowry at the point of attack in the first place.

Simmons: “Kevin Love, to me, if he’s putting up huge stats I don’t know if you’re winning.” Also Simmons: “Kevin Love was overqualified to do what he did in Cleveland and he should’ve stayed by the basket more.” I mean, what did you want him to do? Be an offensive fulcrum on a team that never wins? He did that already.
@Christopher._M

It makes sense. I think love is a second option and should play near the basket if you want him at his best. In cleveland they changed his game and it resulted in him being a third option. Love is the type of player that would have been a lot more appreciated if he had come into the league 7-10 years earlier.

Every time the Thunder get brought up in one of these drafts I’m reminded of all the missed opportunities. That team should’ve figured it out at some point. Look at all the guys that Westbrook played with before he left OKC. I do think Kevin Love is an experiment they should’ve tried. They had a relationship already from college and K Love was a stud in his Minnesota days. Yes on a bad team, but he wouldn’t just forget how to shoot and rebound. Part of his production decline in Cleveland was how many touches LeBron and Kyrie needed and also injury. If it was him and Westbrook with a defensive stud and role players I think they could’ve been solid. Most likely not title winners, but a team no one wanted to play. Maybe a few Conference Finals appearances.
