Back in 90's in Romania,right after we get rid of comunism,i had like 6-7 years...My grandfather was president of agrar industry,in comunism.in a region of country,Moldova,called CAP(cooperative agricol of production). He has to entertain and produce cereals,and for that he has under his inventory,like 500 UTB tractors,120 CP12 combine,and alot of other stuff and attachements. Because Ceausescu order people to eat almost garbage,and production to be sent over boarder for money,in the farmland kitcken,cheapest food was potatoes,and polenta,a thing from corn flavour...but my grandfather being to comand,he always feed his operators,with fried potatoes,and bread,from products people work the soil. But there was a issue,where the hell to put wasted cooked oil...because if the security militia,found out,he was send to jail,for not respect orders...so they put wasted oil in tanks,and when tractor running,left behind a pop corn smell from exhaust...I have and today a UTB tractor saved from there,as in 90,after Ceausescu vas killed,people just left work back,and party,untill today. We have alot of CAP bases with UTB tractors and not only...left to rust or in aim of gypsies for sell them as metal parts for cash. Sorry for my english isnt my native language.

such tractors were manufactured in the Soviet Union at two plants in Minsk, Belarus (named “Belarus MTZ”) and in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine (named “Belarus YuMZ”). the latter were made in the same factory with intercontinental ballistic missiles. so, you have a little part of "Cold War"!!!)))

@@chrisj197438 actually it's name is abbreviated from russian names of production plants. in this case it is MTZ from "Минский Тракторный Завод" (mʲˈinskʲɪj trˈaktərnᵻj zɐvˈot). but in USSR some parts produced in one place (somewhere on the map) and carried through the country to the final compilation place. but most of the factories were related to the defense industry.

You can come up with a new name for the tractor, but here in the Dnipro city when we talk about missiles of our plant we name it the "vertical take-off tractor"))) about the name, I think you can call it "a piece of iron that could be a rocket"

Belarus was part of the USSR had the KBG head quarts there, pronounced bell -a- rouge, They have some of the best farm land in the world there, kind of like the land in central Ill. My local International dealer sold a few of them in late 70s early 80s, the ones they sold had what looked like a counterfeit Deutz air cooled engine, castings were pretty rough looking, don't know how good or bad they were. The one you have looks a lot better that the air cooled ones.

Wow, that Belarus runs quiet. I serviced Belarus tractors back in the 70's. The first time I ever started one, it sounded like the engine was about to rattle apart. 80's is much quieter. Great video!

@@MudRFunR i figured as much since many diesel engines suffer from this & thought you'd be aware of this common "problem" too, however, depending on the audio equipment being utilized the end result can vary quite a bit... The main thing this effects is the higher decibel noise & doesn't always bring everything down equally, sometimes even by design. Point is you gotta be careful using sounds from something thats altering them for the average videos benefit & not that of someone trying to pinpoint one thing based on that sound... Such as diagnosing a rattle or knock. If the injection pump looks to be of a different model or design then your probably correct in your assessment, however if it seems to be the same model then either you have experience with examples with issues or the sound is leveled off above a certain range.

Hooked up many fuel canisters on tractors right to pump to diagnose a problem and on systems that haven’t run in years. No use fixing it all perfect to find out she is not worth fixing. I bought a 1566 IH that sat under a tree for 30 years, fuel system was a mess but its running good now. Only 1060 hours on it.

Looks like a parts run to Minsk is in the cards.You should get a lot of former Soviet Union subscribers with that beast. Don't know much about it, but if it is like most Soviet-era stuff, it should be built like a tank. In fact, it may have once BEEN a tank! Keep on making vidyas an' I'll keep on watchin' 'em!

Battery, 2 boost packs plus jumpers from a running vehicle. Dump half a can of either in it and it would be like starting a new JD from the same age range!

We use to haul those new after the fall of the Berlin Wall and they were allowed in. Pick them up in Baltimore and truck them out. Them were a rough finish tractor even new. I’m shocked to see one still in operation as rough as they were. We would laugh how they were equivalent to 50’s tractors. Lot small farms bought them as they were fairly cheap.

On other words.... Odds are very strong I may have been involved with that very same tractor brand new. Was only 3 of us running them nonstop for couple years. We would pickup 4 and drop them mostly 1:1 at the farm itself. Couple went to dealers.

I do know the us government has a pile of these late 80’s early 90’s tractors in their storage as they bought something like 10,000 units to spur the economy after the wall lol. They in usual government fashion had us ship them to a warehouse somewhere. I’ll bet they are in mothballs brand new still.

Reminds me of when I repowered my little JD 2510 gas. Found a highway construction cart with a 276 turbo diesel 4 in it, hadn't run for years. Smoke all over the place. Thought I checked everything but missed the wasp nest blocking most of the intake tube (it was an air compressor cart, the pump had a tie in after the very large air filter, they got deep in the tube through that opening). Easy swap into the tractor, still runs 15 years later with no breakdowns. FYI, many White brand tractors (if you've heard of them, Oliver before that) that came with Perkins engines can easily be repowered with the Cummins engines out of pickups/trucks. Few different mounts and what not can just be ordered. They are easy to work on, actually decent, and cheaper than the "popular" brands. Smaller like model 2-105, heavier like 2-135.

That tractor is a 81 Boyer she was french built during the cold-war they built millions how ever the production factory was closed and converted to industrial living quarters in the 90s making her a peace of history ...There are a few here in the states but not many untouched survivers like yours Take care of her man she is worth a lot more then scrap price ..Fully restored models sale tripple digit numburs I Don't know where you keep finding rare machinery but your doing a grait job I like the qualtiy of your work keep on keeping on brother 😎🤘✌️

If I had an old diesel like this, I think I'd be a good idea to install a sort of air cutoff on the intake pipe to completely cut off airflow. No need for a rag or a can or a block of wood, just pull a lever and cut the air

Hey man good to c u doing well I bought a work Truck from you a few years ago. We changed our stickers on the gravity tanks we have. Long story short they filled up with diesel in their ford Ranger smoked it till it would not go any further which happens to be on the road next to the bean field I'm still planting at 9:45pm. Their day didn't end well. Lol!

You remind me of my grandfather who owned a excavation business all kinds bulldozers and stuff and his son had a body shop next door and my dad taught auto body and mechanics...anyhow they always messing w stuff and bringing them back to life. My dad was the king of this is the right way to fix something however students lets try and fix it with what you might have around...and that was my dad! lol Ur videos are grand!!!

K&k makes 950 jump pack, heavy but much nicer for starting diesels so you don't need two packs. I've had 2 of them for years, love em

Yep, she just needed a little wake me up spray and some extra power to get her going. Next steps, get rid of the old fluids, belts, hoses and filters. Grease the joints and go over it to make sure it has brakes and everything else is operational.

My dad has one that sits in his field and it never fails to start, its old but reliable as hell. They run two 12 volt batteries in parallel but you can just run one if you use the decompression lever and get it spinning then throw the lever in.

My uncle bought an old Belarus tractor other than snapping the 3 point hitch arm it was a great tractor he ended up getting it welded and the tractor is still in the family
