The Man In Black goes after ALL players have had a turn AND you cannot have 2 of the same item at any one time.

Watching the video I was like "Wait a minute, I thought he went after all players take their turn"? Had to look that up and yeah, was happy to see I was correct. If TMIB went after every player he would WRECK them. lol

she got a lot of "lose 1 wound"s but she NEVER moved the wound token and he never warned her. literally she is just at max wounds and they just said 30 seconds ago that she should lose 1 wound and neither of them questions her being at the max wounds. I'm at 1:30:00 and it's very bad for OCD persons Still, thank you for the effort of shooting this video with such high quality and with a friendly attitude. it's really enjoyable.

This is a great game. I played it with 2 other people the other day. We were shocked how close the score was in the end.

First I got to play my friend's KS copy with him two weekends ago. Loved it. Then I got to watch (briefly) Cartman, Kenny, Kyle, and Stan play the game. Then I got to watch you two play the game. I think this game is gonna be more popular than the KS let on.

To remove downtime I am going to try the variant where all players put 3 action cubes of their color each in a bag and after taking a single action you pull a cube from the bag and that person gets to go (if you move to a location you take that location action immediately). There is a reason we can't all take one action each as players turns can be ruined everytime knowing the next person is going to mess with your plans... but the randomness of the bag means they might.. like in real life. But the downtime can be brutal in a 4-6 player game if you just time how long each person takes to do 3 actions. It was even hard to watch on this playthrough at times.

Thank you for this fun playthrough and review. I'm just now paying attention to this game thanks to the current Big Box Kickstarter. Regarding the competitiveness of the Man In Black: why not just say that if he reaches the LP goal before the players, he wins, goals or no goals.

Nice overview of the game. I skipped this kickstarter because of the reasons Anthony mentioned, conflict heavy etc. Glad to see that it seems to be not the case and you enjoy it so much.

Seems like a lot of analysis paralysis. I was considering playing with 6 players, but that would probably take too long. Nice play through guys!

Pliability is of the charts is good way to begin, the ways to play the game is number two of my favorite thing to hear , and the art is unique and good drawn and lot reading information is like you made this game sells for me , very nicely done!

Great play through as always ... Thinking of picking this one up... Note I say this in a playful way but I think this play through could make for a fun drinking game for every time Frances says "you know" or "you know what I mean" :) .. they are fun to watch as a team I've yet to find a video I've disliked so far.

if your handsize is 4 and you discard down to 4, on the start of your next turn can you then draw any poker cards as of you starting turn options? i played with you can have as many cards you like when its your turn but need to discard down att the end of your turn, and is there a diffrence between gaining poker cards and drawing poker cards towards your hand size?

Great playthrough as always! I came to watch this playthrough because I am picking this game up this week. I've heard a lot of criticism towards this game at 2 players. I was hoping that the game is at least FUN at 2 players. Considering that both of you enjoyed the game without any mention of a negative towards the 2 player experience, confirms that it is a lot of fun!

I think people exaggerate the two player experience. I play primarily two player, and this is great. Yes, I feel like it would be fun with 4, but it's not "broken" at 2 like so many seem to say.

@@BobLee-df4zh I completely agree. Since I got the game I have played it at 2 players, 4 players, and 5 players. I had fun at all player counts and would gladly play it at 2 players again. From my experience, 5 players was the least enjoyable for me. It was probably my group, but the game DRAGGED. It was just too much .

In the top right corner of screen @2:51 you have a red seemingly plastic box with dividers. what is this and where did you get it? I have seen this in several of your videos and really like the flex it has to hold tokens!

You should. Waste knights already exists and is already available. They are planning on releasing a 2nd edition soon which will be on kickstarter. Prior to the 2nd edition I was already interested, but with a 2nd edition I am definitely interested. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Well, last time I complimented you guys on how nice, warm, and contrasty the camera angle of you too looked. Unfortunately, this time that look is gone, and now you guys look a little too bright and almost washed out. Sorry, color correction is my job, so I notice these things. I REALLY liked the look in the Brass video. Either way, great video playthrough again! I love this game!

ulysses2711 There were eventually poker chips in saloons, but to each their own. To me it feels cooler than the miniature money cards.

According to BGG Travis from Kolossal confirmed that the man in black only goes after both players and not after each player.

LarkinVB That may be the case, but he doesn’t score enough points to be competitive unless he goes after each player. I think of it as a difficulty modifier. It’s really up to you how you choose to implement the Man in Black.

Hmm... the rules that come with the man in black specifically says, "after each player's turn". Did Travis do an online errata, then?

Maybe give him twice as many points per successful action? Or even 2 actions in row? Might be easier to keep track. I'm not sure they gave him all his turns in the play-through.

The letter board in the background.... "Never look down..." isn't this quote from Jesse Jackson (not J. James)? I didn't watch the entire video so I'm not sure if this was a joke given the western theme?

After searching the webs, it seems that this quote is often wrongly attributed to Jesse James, perhaps because he was thought to be a "robin hood" like figure (although there is no evidence that he shared any of his loot). Tere are some strategies that are more luck based. Or can seem that way. If you go Outlaw, than you are going to have to deal with the poker cards you are dealt. If you are dealt lower cards it might be harder to win fights, making it easier for other players or the sheriff to arrest you.

Also the event/story cards may give you a better benefit than another one did to another player, or some might hurt you if you didn't contribute. But it really isn't that debilitating. In my opinion it is not super luck based. But I have only played once. Those are my initial thoughts. Hope it helps.

Everyone has different tastes. We've always had the same approach: if the game is not fun for us we don't film a playthrough. We have too many games and not enough time to cover them all unfortunately.

I see that explains a lot. So basically all the games on your channel at least the review one (I am guessing previews are paid for correct?) are the games you like. In this case, would you consider maybe giving an indication in the end to just how much you like it like a score or some general stuff like GOOD game VERY GOOD, AMAZING... Anything basically that we can go by on?

Loki Hve Our review discussions provide viewers with our thoughts. We no longer give a rating as we do not want to categorize a game’s perceived quality with a word. Our playthrough and thoughts should hopefully be enough for viewers to make up their own minds about a game. Our previews are only labeled differently as they are done with prototype copies of the games, usually before they’ve been released. That’s the only difference. And no, we don’t get paid for anything we do with board games.

I really wanted to like this game, but unless you have 5 players who love the sandbox Old Western theme, it plays kinda meh. Plus it has multiple female characters but only one female mini. Poor form.
