Come on now! The episode reviews/recaps/watch alongs here on youtube are FAR, FAR more entertaining than the actual show. S2 cannot be saved. But i will watch the eppy reviews on here again. Honestly, some of them are gloriously funny.😁

I have little confidence that season two will appreciably improve. To improve those involved at Amazon would need to acknowledge their mistakes. That's not going to truly happen any time soon. In the meantime, we have Yoystan to protect our (or at least mine) eyeballs. For this fact I'm extremely grateful. 😊😊😊❤❤❤😊😊😊

I passed out watching ROP episode 4 twice I never watched it again after that. the shows main issue is it is basically fan fiction on top of that horrendous writing. how it cost 1 billion to make when its as bad as it is blows my mind.

There were a few moments that were just so horrifically stupid. The “elves are taking our jobs” bit and Sauron teaching the greatest living elven smith what an alloy is A lot of my other issues with the show are just with how cheap etc it feels. But idk how you come back from such stupid plot points?

My comments on your comments: 1)Galadriel doesn't doesn't just have to deal with "almost" joining Sauron, she has to explain herself on why she said nothing and went along with SAURONS PLAN TO MAKE THE RINGS, even though she already knew. 2) Sauron not playing a big role in S2 is impossible, because they have cast 3 different people to play him. How limited could your screen time be if you need to cast 3 different actors for 1 season. 3) The way they've set up for S2 , unless they drop one of the arcs for S3, there's no escaping the jumping around from one arc(and part of the world) to the other. Nori+Gandalf, Sauron+Mordor, Numenor, Galadriel, Dwarves and god help us if it comes to pass, the Harfoots on their own (without Nori+Gandalf). All these different character groups cannot be combined in multiples, maybe you can go with a couple of them coming together but not all.

The only way I can see it being saved is a soft reboot. S2 ep1 opens with elves trying to wrestle Galadriel’s hands from a seeing-stone/Palantir. She saw all of season 1 through it. When she regains her senses, she acknowledges that she knows the Palantir was showing her a corrupted vision of the future, and decides on a course of action. You can keep all the same actors, but reboot their characters to get rid of the worst of the audience’s complaints. Adjust the plot so it’s not so silly. Fix the cosplay armor, lighten up on the girl-boss characters so that they feel more believable. But there’s absolutely no way they’ll do any of that.

It cannot be saved. Their mission is to tell their own story that is generally described as "loosely" Tolkien related. They instead want to tell a story and bring intersectionality and wokism to it...and they show no signs of deviating from the S1 agenda when coming to S2.

When authors come out with opinions on each other I tend to think "oh, cool" if I agree, and "eh, disagree" if I don't. Neither particularly strongly, unless the author being commented on happens to be the guy who wrote Mein Kampf or something.

I think rings of power season 2 could be saved if they add more inclusive characters and more diverse actors, also focus the plot and narrative to the modern social challenges those people face in the current Western societies of 2024.

I'm cautiously optimistic. That we haven't heard anything from Amazon about season 2 tells me they will try to make it work. Season 1 was more of set up that didn't meet expectations. But now that we got all of that out of the way, the lore stuff like the other rings, Annatar, Eregion war and Numenor's corruption will come to play.

I couldn’t get through the first season. I won’t be watching the second. I can’t believe they paid $250 million for the rights to Tolkien and this is what they came up with. They should have put Peter Jackson in charge and not a collection of people who had no track record. To think I actually got Amazon Prime just for this series.

Hire competent writers who respect the IP. That's all it takes. Although so much damage has been done already, I'm not sure it can be saved.

When you talk about committing, I’ll point to Isildor character assassination in Peter Jackson’s adaptation. His character isn’t just assassinated and they drop it and walk away., it’s constantly brought up and constantly enforces things that happen through all three movies. Isildor character assassination was fully committed to. And it’s clear people were willing to look past this because it worked because they fully committed to it.

It is possible to redeem and get the story to work. But only if they focus on just a few characters. Elrond & durin, arondir&bronwyn and isildur. According to me:) Also I am 55 minutes into this podd. What about annatar? For me he was such an important part of sauron for 2nd age. That is my biggest issue with season 1. How fast halbrand decieved Celebrimbor.

To me its wild that when everything was announced the biggest issues most people had were female dwarves with no beards, elves with short hair, and darker main characters that are not from the southlands. Looking back those things were nothing compared to the other horrible mistakes in the story and lore that ruin everything. If anything the story was so bad that the original problems are easily overlookable in the grand scheme!

Harry potter is like any Disney kids show. It's a kindergarten \ teenage social movie , where there is the school, school bullies, sports and our hero isn't a sports person but hey he manages, schoold teenage romance, and an evil guy that look terrifying but ultimately the kids, that haven't even reach adulthood take him down.... Its so basic and cliche

Rings of Power Season 2 should be ignored by any Tolkien fan. There is nothing to build off of from S1. It was a complete failure. They should have the humility to apologize to the audience and simply stop. That would be the respectable thing to do.

Watched an episode of ROP, it was okay. A lot of conflicting scenes that made no sense as a whole. What is the main goal in ROP? To me, it’s an anti-lord of the rings and totally wrecked the characters in the Lord of the Rings 3 main movies. I’m open to watching more ROP.

With all due respect this show just cannot continue the way it started. It is just not possible to make it good at first place. It has too much deviated from world of MiddleEarth, its lore and core meaning of Tolkien messages. Not only that but the biggest crime this show made: It is boring. People wont bother to watch second season when most of them didnt even finnished the first season. And the way how it treated us fans was just dowright insulting. Fans who bothered to watch it all the way to the end will not watch it also. So who is this show made of? I dont need the forthtelling of Mandos to tell you that this show will loose money, viewership and interestest down the line. Sometimes things just dont work out. That is the reality. Best what Amazon can do is cancel the show, for they need to realize what the show is, abomination of one of the greatest work of all time. They need to analyze it, study the failure and learn from it. But they wont, they are too big to admit they lost.

Also, the fact you two, who are both smart individuals and buried in the actual lore of LOTR, couldn't remember several names from rings of power says much about how terrible this show is.

Awards are based on how much money you have and how much you'd like films. there's nothing to do with artistic sense or whether you own a studio or if you're an actor or director or producer this somebody like that in in the groups that represents each of those functions but it all comes down to money the more money you have the more you can do in the academy and get into it i'd have never seen a poor person on the Academy Awards Grouping it **** me off the average people cannot get their representation to show the appreciation of the great movies that they have seen in their lifetimes. it comes down to schmooze and gift packages Etcetera Etcetera Etcetera giving out by the production companies to the people on the board now you don't really nose on the board unless you're on the board and you don't know how you get on the board except let you get money. one of them just do a random poll at the end of the year out of all the movies you've gone to see did you like it did you not what did you like best about it or did you not like the best about it Who do you think was a good actor in it actress etcetera etcetera did you like the music soon as what still a survey of random people throughout the world the only criteria is they've had to have seen the movie. and that's easy to do when you go in to see the movie you buy your ticket you get a form the registers you online to do the survey. simple as that is a code on the ticket you save your ticket you bring it home you enter into the database you set up an account and that code registers you as having seen this movie. and don't and make it a lot more fair. average people can tell what's good and what's bad granted we probably have like 505 fast and furious movies that would be like Super Academy Award winners. but who knows I still think that people know best not just certain rich individuals controlling a media or a type of media.
