Simon, it's great to see you re-visit Belgian beers you have reviewed so long ago. Especially the classic, iconic names like Westmalle, St Bernardus, Rochefort, Chimay, Orval, St Feuillien, etc.

Only recently got into Trappist beers at Christmas and wow what a revelation. Great to see you reviewing this and totally agree. Make time to savour these. Glad you have the St Bernardus too, which is one of my favourites, lovely Abbey Ale.

That’s a great Belgian dubbel. I love the Westmalle beers. The Sint Bernardus Abt 12 is a Quadrupel, that one is the rival so to say of the Westvleteren 12. Since the Abt 12 is the Westvleteren 12 version of the Sint Bernardus brewery.

I love how you love this beer. And you've taught me the phrase "stone the crows"! I'll be trying this bottle tonight.

That's one of my favourites, before the pandemic used to go to Belgium 🇧🇪 every Christmas for the markets with P&O pick up a range of bottles but for some reason they have stopped doing Belgium and only do Amsterdam from Hull.

I'm having a 330ml bottle of it from Tesco now. I may have a second, or I may have a 660ml bottle of Warsteiner, also from Tesco and both at £6.00 for three bottles. Four 440ml cans of Carling, a beer almost as awful as Budweiser, costs £4.49. It's a no-brainer, isn't it?

I was drinking a bottle of this as this popped up in my feed 😊 I got mine in a Waitrose. Gulden Drakk is great to tho that is a quad

Before I had to give up drinking :-( I genuinely enjoyed every once and a while pausing the IPA and stout chase for the next big thing, and dipping back into the Trappist standards. Always loved the relaxing feel that Belgian beer brought, glad you feel the same. Have to laugh, what was it when I lived in the UK, 2 quid a bottle? Here in Aus they're $10-$15 a bottle. Same with Chimay, they were like 99 euro cents, here, $10-$15 again.
