Hello mate, these type of starters are fitted in alot of vehicles nowadays. One in the video is out of a hyundaii,but they fit Kias,Hondas,toyotas,Kubota engines and many many more. They fit petrol and diesel (commonly seen in diesel). These types are extreamly popular in Land Crusier jeeps,all of them have'em. Range they cover is huge.

Hi got a magneti marelli starter motor which I'm in the process of dismantling, cleaning and ordered a new replacement solenoid and brush gear housing complete set with brushes. I can't work out how to remove the pinion so as to get access to the planetary gears etc. I have photos but can't upload them on here. I wondered if you can help me please

Hi mate, From what I understand,the starter spins but it does not crank the engine,in case like that you have a starter clutch problem,when the clutch rotates in one way is it smooth and tight or can you nearly flick it with your finger? If it flicks easily it is definitely the starter clutch problem. Also I suggest that you get a large screw driver and spin the fly wheel in the car few times,sometimes,but rarely,ring gear on flywheel can go loose and it will cause same symptoms. Cheers.

Hello mate, I am glad that you like the videos. I had no luck getting a proper one either,I just buy normal 2 jaw bearing puller and modify it to use on alternators. Hello mate I checked my denso starter ( assembled ) i could rotate easy one way and with resistance the other way. so i disassembled the clutch. Clutch unit out i can rotate it one way but it totally locks the other ?? Contacts also seemed pretty new.I bought this car 6 months ago so maybe the lst owner had it rebuild lately. is the clutch the problem ? because it now locks ? Problem before i disassembled it was the starter would spin but not the engine. not problems before, just suddenly failed
