The brothers were 7 and 10 years old when I met them last October. Tre and Ke'lynn had been in Child Protective Custody for three and a half years. Almost the entire time they had lived in separate foster homes. "I want to see him every day and I don't," said Ke’lynn at the time.
One month after the story first aired, someone stepped up.

The word “I GO HOME” when the older boy replied, brought tear to my eyes. For those who has a home to go to might mean nothing, but to these boys, it’s very significant. Because now they have a HOME not a HOUSE to go to.

@@ms.pac-man368 I do agree with you that in 99% of the cases that should happen, but I do know one family that it was better that the brother and sister were split up. The girl was adjusting very well to the foster family that wanted to adopt them both but the brother was not at all, he was the oldest of the two and still had memories and dreams that his mother was coming back for him, so the children's advocate and psychiatrist both felt that it was better for them to be split up. He was adopted by a single man who loves him greatly and the brother does not feel any resentment towards a female that he feels is trying to take his mother's place. The kids still see each other all the time, they go to the same school and they all make sure they are together for birthdays and special days. Both kids are thriving

I can see where everybody is coming from, but I don't believe in love. It doesn't exist, except in children's fairy stories. I agree, I do not understand why people take away the stupidest things from videos like this? That dad is a wonderful person to take on the HUGE responsibility of raising these boys. He should not be insulted about his personal grooming choices. I would like all the people who have commented negatively on his hair, to reflect on how they would feel if it was them in this mans shoes. We style ourselves mostly how we think looks best for us and that may not be what others believe is best. AND that’s OK because who wants to be a cookie cutter copy of everyone else?

I totally agree and it's devistating. However trauma bonds are a real thing and depending on what happened to them it is highly suggested and sadly healthy. My friend fosters a boy with a devistating story of sexual abuse including forced behavior with the brother for food. When They got together it was toxic. Abuse is terrible unnecessary and evil I am so happy this ended well for these boys ❤️

You don't know what their trauma is, so how can you weigh in? There are some traumatic events that are so damaging to a child that in order to help them, they need one on one special care in order to process the event and be able to function. A child goes through a personal hell when they are deeply scarred by horrific events. They need focus just on them for awhile. That is what this sounds like.

I’ve had foster children in my home. Sometimes there is abuse in the home and then the siblings act out on each other physically. Once a month seems sparse tho for visits. The norm for kids I had was once a week in therapy sessions together. CPS can be criticized but the real culprit is the states who cut funding to these organizations every chance they get. The caseloads are super high and the pay is low unfortunately and kids do fall through the cracks. Believe me, the people working in this field are doing it out of love and caring.

What a blessing for all involved. WFAA please do periodic updates on "the boys and their family". As an adoptive parent, I will admit the system has had some wrinkles but did offer supports. Adoption laws vary from state to state and country to country and thus the range of adoption/foster care experiences. As with any child, parenting is a life-long job so while these boys stories may have ended on one level they are just beginning on many others. Peace.

It breaks my heart seeing anyone cry especially children when these boys started crying so did I....... It was very hard for me to watch this video I'm glad this man decided to provide a loving & stable home for these boys they desperately needed it they've been through enough trauma in their lives for the very few years that they have been on this earth....... It gets me so angry how so many selfish people decide to become parents smh

Praying for their ongoing healing! I really hope that they are provided excellent counseling and therapy to heal from their past, so the cycle does not continue. But for sure, bottom line, I'm so grateful they are in a safe place, together

Adoption is one of the greatest gifts on the planet. I was adopted at 5yrs old and it came at the right time but I never lost touch with my foster family who are still family to me. Before foster care, I went through some things that I don't wish upon anyone
