No idea how Tampa will handle a huge storm surge with 8 inches of rain on top of it. Have been so lucky in that area for decades and decades. The geography and lay out of the city makes a close fly by or swipe of the coast really crazy for the city. Prayers for everyone in the way of the storm. God Bless 🥰

It's 8:45 am in Jamaica & we are still getting a bartering of rain. No wind as yet on the Southside. I thank God we never got a direct hit. I pray for those will 🙏🇯🇲

The sad part is many neighbors are not preparing, not picking up items that will blow into my house, I guarantee they will be the first to complain about not getting relief!

If you have to evacuate and you are a firearm owner DO NOT leave these behind if at all possible. There are predators out there that will want to exploit this situation to break into empty homes. LE stated they will be here to protect property for those that have to evacuate but I wouldn't count on it. Don't procrastinate. Stay safe out there people!

Tampa hasn't been direct hit by a hurricane in 170 years. Doubt theyre in any danger from this one.

A direct hit on Tampa from this is still very possible they should have mentioned that because if that happens and millions are caught off gaurd it can lead to a new Orleans Katrina situation because Tampa is very vulnerable to storm surge due to the shallow waters off the coast and the bays except Tampa is like 3 times the metro population as New Orleans so it can get very ugly if Tampa is not prepared.

If it follows this path a lot of water will be pushed from the bay out into the gulf, which should counteract the surge in the bay, which would help on the north side of the bay.. Let’s hope that happens.. And surf’s up on the south side of the bay.. Surfers love it when a storm like this runs parallel to the coast..

am not worryed i plan to stay in my apartment and ride it out in pinellas i dont have the money to leave show am staying and riding it out plus it will get weaker the closer it gets it be like ETA was in 2020 again. 5 to 8 feet never happens here we have never gotten a flood that covered the whole road and i live right by a lake with a river full of alligators and its never been bad enough for the rive and lake water to cover the road. they are over doing it with the report.
