For a "silent" protagonist, he sure is hammy. Though that does seem to be standard issue for space marines.

***** Hammy as in "hamming up his performance". It's a term derived from actors who would act way over the top in auditions for the lead role in "Hamlet". Google it if you need a more detailed explanation.

***** The screaming, the bombastic yelling, the dramatic choice of words, the utter absence of subtlety. That's all pretty much large ham to a tee. For context I didn't mean it as an insult. Just an ironic twist on how tight lipped he is in the campaign in contrast to the skirmish mode.

@OpposingFarce Brian Dobson was Angelos in vanilla DOW2, and that's the voice they used for the Force Commander. In Chaos Rising they brought back Paul Dobson for Gabriel himself but kept Brian's voice for the FC.
